MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Thursday, August 18 (2022)

The MLB season is moving fast. We’re already in the middle of August, and it feels like the season just began!

I’ve got three Same-Game Parlays throughout the day that you should consider. We’re looking to hit one of three bets. If we do that, we’ll have made some profit.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers

  • Leg 1: Andrew Heaney Over 6.5 K’s (+122)
  • Leg 2: Corbin Burnes Over 7.5 K’s (-108)
  • Leg 3: Under 7.5 (-115)

With Corbin Burnes on the mound for the Brewers, expectations are that this game goes under the total. Burnes has a 3,23 xFIP in the last 30 days and has struck out over 31.1% of batters faced in that time period.

Burnes has also induced 51% of ground balls while only allowing 13.7% of line drives when balls are batted into play. He’s putting together another Cy Young caliber season.

On the other hand, Andrew Heaney will take the ball for the Dodgers. He has a 4.08 xFIP in the last 30 days while striking out 28.4% of batters faced.

Heaney has rarely given up hard contact and will go up against a Brewers lineup that has struck out 26.7% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days. Milwaukee has lacked power against lefties and has a wOBA of .257 in the last month with their projected lineup against lefties.

Obviously, the Dodgers have the better lineup, but good pitching always beats good hitting in this game. I’m riding with the under in this one to finish off the parlay.

Chicago Cubs vs. Baltimore Orioles

  • Leg 1: Adley Rutschman 2+ Total Bases (+120)
  • Leg 2: Jorge Mateo 1+ Hit (-175)
  • Leg 3: Anthony Santander 2+ Total Bases (+115)

Adrian Sampson will take the hill for the Cubs today. He’s got a 4.37 xFIP in the last 30 days and has allowed nearly 27% of line drives when balls are batted into play during that time frame.

Adley Rutschman is hitting a .216 ISO with a wOBA of .466 against righties in his last 70 plate appearances. He’s also hit 38.1% of line drives against righties when balls are batted into play in the last 30 days. He could have a big day here.

On the other hand, Anthony Santander, another switch-hitter, will bat lefty against Sampson. He’s hit 25.5% of line drives when balls are batted into play in the last 30 days against righties. He could put together a solid extra-base hit in this game as well.

Lastly, Jorge Mateo is hitting a .245 ISO with a wOBA of .393 against his last 57 righties faced. He’s also hit 26.2% of line drives against righties. One base hit over the infield is all we’ll need with Mateo.

Ride the Orioles with this parlay.

Washington Nationals vs. San Diego Padres

  • Leg 1: Manny Machado 2+ Total Bases  (-130)
  • Leg 2: Juan Soto 2+ Total Bases (-110)
  • Leg 3: Trent Grisham 1+ Hit (-165)

The Nationals will send out Anibal Sanchez for tonight’s game. Sanchez has a 6.29 xFIP in the last 30 days with under 15% of strikeouts against batters faced.

He’s been allowing a high amount of extra-base hits to both sides of the plate and has also given up 42% of hard contact when balls are batted into play.

Meanwhile, on the Padres, Manny Machado is hitting a .342 ISO with a wOBA of .449 against righties in the last 30 days. Juan Soto is hitting a .204 ISO with a wOBA of .419 in his last month against righties. Lastly, Trent Grisham is hitting a .322 ISO with a wOBA of .378 in that same time frame against righties.

Back the Padres to have a big day offensively in this Same-Game Parlay.
