MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Tuesday, August 23 (2022)

We’ve got about a month and a half left of regular season baseball. The season has been flying by. We’ve made tons of profit, especially with our Same-Game Parlays, after we’ve hit many +400 bets over the course of the year.

I’ve got three more Same-Game Parlays that you should consider. As always, we’re looking to hit one of three bets. If we do that, we’ll have made some profit.

San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers

  • Leg 1: Carlos Rodon Over 7.5 K’s (-134)
  • Leg 2: LaMonte Wade 1+ Hit (-195)
  • Leg 3: Brandon Crawford 2+ Total Bases (+115)

The Detroit Tigers will start Drew Hutchison for tonight’s game against the Giants. Hutchison has a 5.23 xFIP in the last 30 days and has struggled in basically every category in the last month.

He’s struck out just 15.2% of batters faced in that time frame and has allowed nearly 9% of walks as well. When balls are batted into play, Hutchison gives up 25.9% of line drives while only getting 40% of ground balls.

Ultimately, he’s been much worse against lefties, which is why I’ve added two premier lefties into this Same-Game Parlay. LaMonte Wade is hitting a .409 ISO with a wOBA of .360 against righties, while Brandon Crawford is hitting a .258 ISO with a .376 wOBA against righties in the last 30 days.

Meanwhile, Carlos Rodon has struck out 35% of batters faced in the last 30 days and will pitch against a Tigers lineup that has struck out over 24% of the time against lefties in that same time frame.

Back the Giants in this Same-Game Parlay.

Miami Marlins vs. Oakland Athletics

  • Leg 1: Jesus Aguilar 2+ Total Bases (+120)
  • Leg 2: Nick Fortes 1+ Hit (-175)
  • Leg 3: Seth Brown 2+ Total Bases (+115)

The Athletics will start left-hander Zach Logue for tonight’s contest. He had a 5.68 xFIP while only striking out 8.9% of batters faced in the last 30 days. Logue has walked 11.1% of batters in that same time frame, giving up more walks than strikeouts earned.

Against righties, the lefty has allowed a .509 wOBA and ISO of .407. So we’ll stack consistent right-handed bats against Logue with Jesus Aguilar and Nick Fortes. Aguilar has a .269 ISO with a .324 wOBA, while Fortes has a .429 ISO with a wOBA of .420 against lefties in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, Pablo Lopez will get the start for the Marlins. He’s been up-and-down this season and has really struggled against lefties as of late. He’s giving up a .465 wOBA and ISO of .327 against lefties in his last 52 plate appearances. Seth Brown of the Athletics is a lefty, hitting a .344 ISO and wOBA of .414 against righties. Brown can do some serious damage against Lopez, who consistently allows a ton of line drives.

Let’s roll with both offenses in this Same-Game Parlay. The numbers match up well.

Washington Nationals vs. Seattle Mariners

  • Leg 1: Julio Rodriguez 2+ Total Bases (-145)
  • Leg 2: Jesse Winker 2+ Total Bases (+120)
  • Leg 3: Adam Frazier 1+ Hit (-200)

Erick Fedde will man the mound for the Nationals tonight. On the season, he has a 5.25 xFIP with low strikeouts and high walks. He’s giving up more power to lefties but allowing more base runners when facing righties.

In the last 30 days, the Mariners have shown off a ton of power, and it starts with Julio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is batting a .279 ISO with a wOBA of .348 against righties in the last 30 days. He’s minimized ground balls against righties and continues to put the ball in the air.

Jesse Winker, on the other hand, is a left-handed hitter, hitting a .200 ISO with a wOBA of .342 against righties in the last month. Like Rodriguez, he’s limited ground balls and continues to put the ball in the air.

Finally, Adam Frazier has a .335 wOBA but has hit 23.6% of line drives when he bats the ball into play. Fedde has struggled to earn a high amount of strikeouts, and if Frazier can put the ball in play, a hit in four tries is likely.
