Houston Astros vs. Cincinnati Reds
- Leg 1: Yordan Alvarez Over 2.5 Total Bases (-190)
- Leg 2: Yainer Diaz Over 1.5 Total Bases (-135)
- Leg 3: Alex Bregman Over 1.5 Total Bases (-125)
The Cincinnati Reds will give righty Julian Aguiar another start. The right-hander has only thrown against 63 batters this season. However, he’s allowed those batters a .328 ISO and wOBA of .416. He’s also allowed 35.3% of fly balls with only 11.1% of strikeouts.
Ultimately, he’s been bad against both sides of the plate.
On the other hand, Yordan Alvarez has smashed righties over the last 30 days. Alvarez has added a .369 ISO and wOBA of .505 with just 10.7% of strikeouts against righties. That’s one of many reasons his total bases line is stuck at 2.5 and not 1.5. However, he just nailed two home runs yesterday and is in a great spot to hit another home run today.
Behind him will be Alex Bregman. He’s also hit a .278 ISO and wOBA of .395 against his last 75 righties. Bregman has nailed 58.3% of hard contact and has added a 13.3% barrel percentage. He’s not quite Yordan, but he’s close.
Finally, Yainer Diaz needs to limit ground balls against righties a bit. But he’s still added a .155 ISO and wOBA of .354 against his last 88 righties. In addition, he’s added a 51.5% hard contact rate, which has led to a batting average on balls in play (BABIP) of .344 against righties in the previous month.
Back the core Astros hitters in today’s game against Aguiar.

New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers
- Leg 1: Gerrit Cole Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-162)
- Leg 2: Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)
- Leg 3: Austin Wells Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)
Gerrit Cole will man the mound for the Yankees in the last game of Labor Day. Cole has been all over the place since he returned to the mound. However, recently, he’s pitched very well. Cole has added 27% of strikeouts and has allowed just a .106 ISO and wOBA of .282 to his last 115 batters.
Tonight, he’ll battle a Rangers projected lineup that has only hit a .139 ISO and wOBA of .294 with 22.1% of strikeouts and 5.6% of walks. The Rangers’ only real threat against righties is Corey Seager. The rest of the lineup has struggled in most areas. In addition, the Texas lineup has six batters with strikeout rates of at least 23.2% against righties over the last month. That should help Cole get to his six strikeouts tonight.
Meanwhile, the Rangers will counter with Jack Leiter. He’s a rookie pitcher who has allowed a .382 ISO and wOBA of .541 to his first 40 lefties faced this season.
Leiter has also earned just 17.5% of strikeouts and has given up 33.3% of fly balls, with only 37% of ground balls induced against lefties.
With his struggles against lefties, we’ll back Juan Soto and Austin Wells to deliver two total bases each. Soto has knocked a .288 ISO and wOBA of .390 against his last 61 righties. Meanwhile, Wells is doing even better against righties, holding a .327 ISO and wOBA of .486 against his last 59 righties.
Parlay Odds: +600
