MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (6/21)
The first full day of summer contains one less game than normal, as the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants have the day off after playing Thursday at Rickwood Field. However, we still have plenty of chances to create some Same-Game Parlays (SGP) that can boost our bankrolls heading into the weekend.
Here are my three favorite SGPs for Friday's MLB slate.

Friday’s MLB Best Same Game Parlay Bets
New York Mets @ Chicago Cubs
- Leg 1: Chicago Cubs Moneyline (-152)
- Leg 2: Shota Imanaga Under 6.5 Strikeouts (-158)
- Leg 3: Jose Quintana Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-142)
- Leg 4: Nico Hoerner to Record a Hit (-280)
Day baseball at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field will help us kick off today's SGP article. The Cubs have their ace, Shota Imanaga, on the mound. The New York Mets will counter with Jose Quintana. This matchup of starting pitchers should result in a heavy advantage in favor of the home team.
Imanaga has a 7-1 record and a 1.89 ERA in 13 starts this year. He has been particularly tough at home, where he has allowed just six earned runs in seven starts. Meanwhile, Quintana has been a disaster on the road. In seven starts away from Citi Field, the veteran lefty is 1-2 with a 6.68 ERA. I am taking Chicago on the Moneyline as the first leg of this SGP.
Though I expect Imanaga to be a big part of why the Cubs win this game, I am not as confident in projecting a huge strikeout total. During June, the Mets have only struck out in 18.7% of plate appearances when facing a left-handed pitcher. And despite his dominance at home, he has only gone over this number in three of his seven home starts.
Another potential factor could be pitch count. Imanaga threw a season-high 103 pitches in his last start. The Cubs were idle on Thursday, so their bullpen should be fully rested. They may not want to overextend Imanaga in this game.
Similarly, I am also taking the under on Quintana's strikeout prop. Cubs hitters have been even better at avoiding strikeouts in June versus southpaws.
Chicago enters Friday's game with a 17.2% strikeout rate against lefties this month. Quintana has had four or fewer strikeouts in 12 of his 13 starts, so I expect that trend to continue.
My last leg is for Nico Hoerner to record at least one hit in this game. He should lead off for Chicago with Quintana on the mound. Hoerner is 3-for-8 lifetime against Quintana and tends to hit better at home and versus lefties. He should be good for at least one knock on Friday afternoon.

Chicago White Sox @ Detroit Tigers
- Leg 1: Detroit Tigers Moneyline (-178)
- Leg 2: Jack Flaherty Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-109)
- Leg 3: Paul DeJong Under 0.5 Total Hits (+100)
Our next SGP for Friday's MLB slate takes us to the Motor City, where Jack Flaherty and the Detroit Tigers host the Chicago White Sox.
Though the Tigers are coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the Atlanta Braves, they should have a much easier time of it against Chicago. The White Sox have won just seven road games all season. No other team has won fewer than 11 road contests. I am taking the Tigers on the Moneyline as the first leg of this SGP.
A big reason I am backing Detroit is the resurgence of starting pitcher Jack Flaherty. Flaherty struck out seven White Sox in his season debut back in March. At the time, many did not think much of his performance. But Flaherty has proven to be one of the best strikeout artists in baseball this season.
Among 71 qualified starters, Flaherty's 33.3% strikeout rate is third best. And he should have ample opportunities to build on that Friday. During June, the White Sox have the third-highest strikeout rate (25.9%) when facing right-handed pitching.
Flaherty has had at least seven strikeouts in eight of his 13 starts, including four out of five at home. Flaherty will record at least seven strikeouts in a favorable matchup on Friday night.
Finally, I am betting against Paul DeJong to register a base hit in this game. DeJong's 31.7% strikeout rate is the eighth-highest among 149 qualified hitters. He also has a strikeout rate of 33.3% or higher against Flaherty's three primary pitches.
This has played itself out over their brief head-to-head history. DeJong is 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against Flaherty. I expect Flaherty to get the best of this matchup on Friday.
Flaherty has allowed opponents to hit just .220 this year, while Tigers' relievers have held foes to a .227 clip. Given their success and DeJong's .220 expected batting average, I am grabbing the under on his 0.5 total hits prop as the final leg of this SGP.

Washington Nationals @ Colorado Rockies
- Leg 1: Washington Nationals to Score First Run (-175)
- Leg 2: Jesse Winker 2+ Total Bases (+115)
- Leg 3: Keibert Ruiz 2+ Total Bases (+110)
For our final SGP, we are in full "fade Dakota Hudson" mode.
Hudson enters this game with a 7.16 home ERA while allowing a .397 weighted on-base average to opposing hitters. Fanatics offers a "Who Will Score the 1st Run?" market, which we are taking advantage of here. I like Washington to get on the board early against Hudson.
Lefties, in particular, are doing quite a bit of damage against Hudson in Coors Field. Left-handed hitters have a .513 on-base percentage and a .581 slugging percentage versus Hudson in Colorado this season.
With CJ Abrams questionable due to a cyst in his wrist, I am pivoting to Jesse Winker and Keibert Ruiz to round out this SGP. I like both players to record at least two total bases in this matchup.
Winker has been a revelation in his first season in Washington. He is hitting .286 with a .460 slugging percentage against right-handed pitchers this year. He is 5-for-13 lifetime versus Hudson, so he sees him well. Walks could be a concern on both sides of this head-to-head matchup. However, the odds are too good to pass up given the circumstances.
Ruiz has struggled mightily for most of the year. However, manager Davey Martinez bumped Ruiz up to the cleanup spot on Thursday with Abrams out. That piqued my interest considering the favorable matchup he will face on Friday night.
Even though Ruiz enters this game with a .198 batting average, his xBA is a solid .252. He also exhibits elite contact skills. These should play well both versus Hudson and in Coors Field.
The other left-handed hitters likely to be in Washington's lineup (Eddie Rosario and Luis Garcia) are not priced well enough to get us over the +400 threshold simply by replacing Ruiz without adding another leg. The more legs we add and the outcomes we need, the trickier it often becomes to hit an SGP. I believe Ruiz can come through for us, especially if he bats cleanup.
