While there are 12 games on the MLB slate today, a couple of those matchups will be played during the day. I’ll skip those two games and worry about the 10-game slate in the night.

Here are two MLB same game parlays you’ll want to consider for tonight’s matchups.

Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals MLB Same Game Parlay

Michael Wacha will get the start against the Tigers tonight. While he hasn’t been awful, his stats against lefties have been telling. He’s faced 110 lefties and has allowed a .173 ISO and wOBA of .327. He’s also induced just 24.3% of ground balls and has allowed .33.8% of fly balls and 31.1% of line drives.

With those numbers, things will likely go south, not north.

This season, lefties at the top of the Detroit order have done damage against righties. Riley Green has hit a .232 ISO and wOBA of .381 against righties this year.

Meanwhile, Wenceel Perez, a switch-hitter, will bat left-handed tonight. He’s smacked a .250 ISO and wOBA of .387 against righties this season.

Finally, Kerry Carpenter has smoked a .265 ISO and wOBA of .385 against righties.

Let’s stack up the Detroit lefties against Wacha tonight.

Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels MLB Same Game Parlay

Reid Detmers, a lefty, has reverse splits for two years in a row now. Detmers allowed a .210 ISO and wOBA of .387 to 135 lefties last season. He’s also allowed a .255 ISO and wOBA of .350 to 59 lefties this year.

In addition, Detmers has allowed 36.4% of fly balls and has induced only 30.3% of ground balls against lefties this season. While his strikeout numbers are high against lefties, he only faces three lefties in the Houston lineup. Two of those three lefties are Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez, who have limited strikeouts to no more than 20% against lefties.

Beyond that, Tucker has hit a .333 ISO and wOBA of .436 against lefties this season. Alvarez has lagged behind but has still nailed a .172 ISO and wOBA of .392 against lefties.

On top of that, the Astros’ entire starting lineup has only struck out 16.1% of the time against lefties this season. Despite Detmers adding 26.3% of strikeouts, only Jon Singleton has struck out more than 20% of the time in this Houston lineup. So, while Detmers might add a couple of strikeouts against Singleton, it’ll be hard for him to earn punchouts against this Houston lineup consistently.

Let’s trust Tucker and Alvarez and roll with a parlay fading Detmers, who has been awful against lefties when the ball is put into play.
