MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (9/29)

As we head into the final seven days of the MLB season, many playoff teams will be sitting their star players in multiple games with their divisions already clinched.

Many teams are still fighting for three Wild Card spots in the American and National League. So we’ll attack those teams with our plays moving forward.

Here are three solid same-game parlays for today’s slate in the MLB.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians

  • Leg 1: Yandy Diaz 2+ Total Bases (+115)
  • Leg 2: Wander Franco 2+ Total Bases (+100)
  • Leg 3: Manuel Margot 1+ Hit (-190)

The Tampa Bay Rays are still looking to earn an American League Wild Card spot. They’ll face Cal Quantrill of the Guardians. He has a 4.81 xFIP over the last 30 days and has struck out just 18.6% of batters in that same time frame.

Righties have a wOBA of .387 over their last 71 plate appearances against Quantrill. Yandy Diaz has struck out 11.9% of the time against righties through his previous 59 plate appearances. He’ll be able to put the ball in play and potentially even earn two hits.

Meanwhile, Wander Franco also limits strikeouts and has a wOBA of .358 over the last 30 days. When Franco is making contact, he’s hitting over 30% of line drives against righties.

Lastly, Manuel Margot has backed 26.2% of line drives against righties over the last 30 days. We’ll be good there if he can get a line drive to hit the grass.

Miami Marlins vs. Milwaukee Brewers

  • Leg 1: Willy Adames 2+ Hits (+2701)
  • Leg 2: Luis Urias 1+ Hit (-175)
  • Leg 3: Tyrone Taylor 1+ Hit (-155)

The Miami Marlins will pitch Braxton Garrett, a left-handed pitcher taking on a primarily right-handed lineup. Garrett’s striking out 19.4% of batters against righties and 40% against lefties over the last 30 days. He’s also allowed an ISO of .207 to righties through his previous 31 plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Willy Adames has been red hot against lefties, hitting a .217 ISO with a wOBA of .424. He’s smacked nearly 30% of line drives and has hit under 30% of ground balls over the last 30 days against righties.

Luis Urias has a .451 wOBA with 30% of line drives hit against lefties in the last 30 days. Finally, Tyrone Taylor has a .368 ISO and woBA of .392 against lefties in that same time frame.

The Brewers will compete every night as they try to earn that final Wild Card spot. I’ll back those consistent hitters.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants

  • Leg 1: Joc Pederson 2+ Total Bases (+130)
  • Leg 2: Wilmer Flores 2+Total Bases (+130)
  • Leg 3: Jason Vosler 1+ Hit  (-175)

The Giants and Rockies aren’t fighting for any playoff position. But the Giants still have enough weapons to earn a win over Colorado tonight.

Ryan Feltner will take the mound for the Rockies. He has had a 5.17 xFIP over the last 30 days. He’s also walked over 9% of batters and has given up 41.4% of hard contact when the ball is put in play over the last month.

Righties have hit a .388 wOBA and ISO of .212 against Feltner, but lefties are hitting more line drives against Feltner.

Joc Pederson will lead things off for the Giants. He’s a lefty who has dominated against righties throughout the season. Pederson has a .265 ISO and wOBA of .378 against his last 54 righties faced. Meanwhile, Wilmer Flores, a righty, is hitting 26.5% of line drives while only hitting 32.4% of ground balls against righties in the last 30 days.

And although Jason Vosler has only had 14 plate appearances against righties over the last 30 days, he’s hit 50% of line drives and has a .421 wOBA with an ISO of .250 against righties. I’ll ride the hot hand to get a base hit towards the bottom of the order.
