MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (5/23)

We fell just one total base short in both same-game parlays with yesterday’s article.

We’re close this week.

I’ve added two more same-game parlays for tonight’s slate of games. I’m feeling good about these. Consider tailing if you are too!

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds

The St. Louis Cardinals will roll with the veteran Adam Wainwright tonight. Wainwright has a 5.93 xFIP over the last 30 days and has struck out just 11% of batters in that time frame.

Wainwright has earned 33.3% of ground balls and allowed 30% of line drives over the last month. Lefties are hitting a .378 wOBA and ISO of .257 in their last 39 plate appearances against Wainwright. Therefore, lefty Jake Fraley has potential tonight against Wainwright. Fraley has hit a .250 ISO and wOBA of .429 against righties over his last 71 plate appearances against them. He’s also got a BABIP of .388 and has hit under 40% of ground balls in the last 30 days against righties.

On the other hand, it’ll be Graham Ashcraft on the mound for the Reds. Ashcraft has a 5.47 xFIP over the last 30 days and has struggled against both sides of the plate. Nolan Gorman has hit a .301 ISO and wOBA of .393 against his last 82 righties faced. Gorman has hit over 23% of line drives against righties in that time span. Then there’s Paul Goldschmidt. He’s hit a .232 ISO and wOBA of .370 against righties in his last 96 plate appearances.

Parlay Odds: +650

New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs

Fresh off his 12-strikeout performance against the Rays, Kodai Senga should have another masterful performance against the Cubs tonight.

Senga has struck out 32.3% of batters over the last 30 days. He’s also earned 49% of grounders and has given up only 15.7% of line drives.

Meanwhile, the Cubs have eight batters in the projected lineup that have struck out at least 20% of the time against righties. As a lineup, the Cubs have struck out 24.4% of the time against righties. Only Christopher Morel has hit for high power against righties over the last month for the Cubs. Seiya Suzuki has been solid, too, for the Cubs. It’ll be fun watching him bat against Senga.

Meanwhile, Drew Smyly will take the hill for the Cubs. Smyly has a 4.66 xFIP over the last month and has watched lefties hit a .408 wOBA and ISO of .208 against him over the last 30 days.

Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil will be the only two lefties in the lineup for the Mets. Nimmo has struck out under 20% of the time and has hit 26.9% of line drives against lefties over his last 36 plate appearances against lefties. McNeil has struck out only 6.7% of the time against lefties and has hit 28% of line drives in his last 30 plate appearances against lefties.

Those two will put the ball in play and hit line drives against Smyly. That should result in base hits for those two.

Parlay Odds: +450
