MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (10/4)

The playoff picture is almost set for the 2022 MLB season. The Phillies finally clinched the final spot of the NL Wild Card. Only the NL East is up for grabs with two days left of the MLB season.

Some players could end up sitting in today’s games. It’s probably best to look at lineups before betting a few same-game parlays.

Here are three same-game parlays I’m considering for today’s MLB slate.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles

  • Leg 1: Adley Rutschman 2+ Hits (+310)
  • Leg 2: Ryan Mountcastle 1+ Hit (-210)
  • Leg 3: Gunnar Henderson 1+ Hit (-170)

The Toronto Blue Jays will give Mitch White another start tonight. He’s holding a 6.31 xFI in the last 30 days and has struck out just 9.3% of batters faced in that time frame. Meanwhile, he’s also walked 9.3% of batters and has given up a .333 BABIP in his last 75 batters faced.

The middle of the Baltimore lineup has recently had a ton of success against righties. Adley Rutschman is hitting a .260 ISO with a wOBA of .427 against righties last month. He’ll bet near the top of the order and could have five plate appearances to get two hits.

Meanwhile, Ryan Mountcastle is hitting a .224 ISO and wOBA of .383 in the last 30 days against righties. Finally, Gunnar Henderson has been an exciting player for the Orioles, hitting a .208 ISO and wOBA of .371 against righties over his last 88 plate appearances.

Let’s back the Orioles against a struggling Mitch White.

Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds

  • Leg 1: Seiya Suzuki 2+ Total Bases (+105)
  • Leg 2: Ian Happ 2+ Total Bases (+135)
  • Leg 3: Nico Hoerner 1+ Hit (-260)

It’ll be Luis Cessa on the mound for the Reds tonight. The right-handed pitcher has had a 5.32 xFIP over the last 30 days. He’s struck out under 17% of batters in that same time frame while allowing inducing under 40% of ground balls.

Cessa has also allowed 21.4% of line drives when balls are hit into play and is giving up 40.5% of hard contact.

Chicago’s lineup has hit 21% of line drives against righties over the last 30 days. Seiya Suzuki has been the main contributor recently, hitting a .222 ISO and wOBA of .379 in his previous 50 plate appearances against righties.

Ian Happ only has a .344 wOBA in the last 30 days, but he’s hitting 23% of line drives when the ball is in play. He’s also limited ground balls and has a BABIP of .339.

Lastly, Nico Hoerner is hitting a .233 ISO with a wOBA of .332 against righties in the last month. However, he’s struck out just 10.9% of the time. When you put the ball in play, good things happen.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Oakland Athletics

  • Leg 1: Shohei Ohtani 2+ Total Bases (-110)
  • Leg 2: Mike Trout 2+Total Bases (-110)
  • Leg 3: Taylor Ward 2+ Total Bases  (+110)

The Angels have been red hot over the last month offensively. As a projected lineup, they’re hitting a .237 ISO and wOBA of .348 against lefties.

Tonight, they’re taking on Cole Irvin, who has a 5.95 xFIP over the same time frame. He’s not getting a high rate of grounders but is giving up plenty of line drives.

Righties are hitting a .394 wOBA and ISO of .228 over their last 103 plate appearances against Irvin. Lefties have a .463 wOBA and ISO of .273 in their last 23 plate appearances. Irvin’s a lefty and rarely faces lefties.

However, Shohei Ohtani is one lefty he’ll face. Ohtani is hitting a .242 ISO and wOBA of .393 against lefties over his last 30 days. Mike Trout has been even better, hitting a .556 ISO and wOBA of .477 against lefties in his previous 29 plate appearances. Also, Taylor Ward proved that his breakout wasn’t a fluke this season. Against lefties, Ward has a .179 wOBA and ISO of .400 in his last 32 plate appearances.

Back the Angels’ offense tonight.
