MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/20)

The Mets, Astros, and Dodgers have all clinched at least a playoff berth for this year’s MLB Playoffs. Other teams are getting closer as we head down the season’s final stretch.

We’ll have playoff baseball in three weeks!

With that said, I’m eyeing teams close to clinching a postseason berth with tonight’s Same-Game Parlays. Here are three of my favorite for tonight’s full slate of games.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Philadelphia Phillies

  • Leg 1: J.T Realmuto 2+ Total Bases (+105)
  • Leg 2: Alec Bohm 2+ Total Bases (+120)
  • Leg 3: Jean Segura 1+ Hit (-210)

The Phillies have been sneaky against righties over the last 30 days. They’ll face Ross Stripling, who has an ERA below three on the year.

Stripling’s xFIP is at 4.72 over the last month, and he’s only induced 34.9% of grounders in that same time frame. Righties are hitting a .271 ISO against Stripling through his previous 50 plate appearances against righties. He allows more fly balls against righties and induces fewer grounders.

On the other hand, some of these right-handed bats on the Phillies have hit for power consistently against righties. J.T. Realmuto is hitting a .333 ISO with a wOBA of .379 against righties over his last 63 plate appearances against righties. Alec Bohm has also hit well, hitting a .208 ISO with a wOBA of .335 over the previous month.

Finally, Jean Segura, another righty, hits 23.4% of line drives when he puts the ball in play in the last 30 days. He’s also hitting a .326 BABIP in the previous month against righties.

I’ll back the righties for the Phillies to hit for power against Stripling in tonight’s game.

Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves

  • Leg 1: Dansby Swanson (-260)
  • Leg 2: Austin Riley 2+ Total Bases (-115)
  • Leg 3: William Contreras 2+ Total Bases (+100)

Patrick Corbin will get the start for the Nationals tonight. He’s a lefty with a 4.33 xFIP over the last 30 days. Corbin has had one of the worst seasons in the MLB, yet, the Nationals keep sending him out on the mound.

He’s given up 46% of hard contact and 25% of line drive contact when balls are batted into play over the last 30 days. He’s also struck out just 15.3% of batters in that same time frame.

Against righties, Corbin has allowed a .352 wOBA and ISO of .202 in his last 104 plate appearances.m

Meanwhile, the Braves have had lots of success against lefties throughout the season. Right-handed hitter Dansby Swanson has a .259 ISO with a wOBA of .343 against lefties in his last 28 plate appearances against them. Another righty, Austin Riley, is hitting a .190 ISO with 50% of fly balls against lefties in his last month facing them.

Lastly, Wilson Contreras has a .227 ISO and a wOBA of .457 against lefties in his last 27 plate appearances against lefties. He’s another righty that should have success against Corbin tonight.

Let’s back the right-handed Braves tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres

  • Leg 1: Paul Goldschmidt 2+ Total Bases (+115)
  • Leg 2: Nolan Arenado 2+Total Bases  (+130)
  • Leg 3: Albert Pujols 2+ Total Bases  (+165)

The Cardinals will take on Mike Clevinger in San Diego for tonight’s game. Clevinger has had a 6.24 xFIP in the last 30 days. He’s struck out under 16% of batters while inducing just above 35% of ground balls.

Lefties have a .231 ISO, while righties are hitting a .456 wOBA and ISO of .372 in their last 30 days against Clevinger.

Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and Albert Pujols are tonight’s three powerful righties in the St. Louis order. Goldschmidt’s production has started to fall off, but he’s still hitting a .334 wOBA with a BABIP of .317 over his last 102 plate appearances against righties.

Meanwhile, Arenado has a .202 ISO with a wOBA of .366 against righties over the last 30 days. He’s limited ground balls and has hit 22% of line drives in that time.

Finally, Pujols is inching closer to 700 home runs. He’s hitting a .220 ISO against righties over his last 67 plate appearances and has a solid matchup against Clevinger to hit another one out.

Let’s get crazy. Back the Cardinals’ righties tonight.
