MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/27)

We’ve got about one more week of baseball until the playoffs. There’s still a tight race in the NL East, and the AL and NL Wild Card spots aren’t official yet.

We will have some exciting baseball heading down to the final stretch. I’ve put together my favorite three same-game parlays for tonight’s slate. Take a look and let us know if you’re tailing!

Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets

  • Leg 1: Jeff McNeil 2+ Total Bases (-105)
  • Leg 2: Eduardo Escobar 2+ Total Bases (+140)
  • Leg 3: Dan Vogelbach 1+ Hit (-140)

The Mets had had Pablo Lopez’s number this year. He’s thrown 16.2 innings against New York this season and has allowed 34 hits and 22 runs. That’s good for an ERA of 11.34.

The Mets have hit .420 against Lopez in four games against him this season. I’m not expecting the Mets to knock Lopez out in the first inning. But the lefties should have some success in the order tonight.

Lopez has allowed 26.3% of line drives over the last 30 days when balls are put into play. He’s also allowed lefties to hit a .415 wOBA through his last 59 plate appearances against them.

Jeff McNeil is one of the best hitters in baseball. He’s averaging .350 wOBA over the last 30 days against righties. Dan Vogelbach should be hitting in the middle of the order as well. He’s hitting a .355 wOBA with 25% of line drives in his last month against righties. Lastly, Eduardo Escobar is hitting a .297 ISO and wOBA of .430 against righties over his last 70 plate appearances.

Pete Alonso also has some power against righties if you want to go in that direction. He’s been red hot and just won the NL Player of the Week award.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Houston Astros

  • Leg 1: Jose Altuve 2+ Total Bases (-120)
  • Leg 2: Kyle Tucker 2+ Total Bases (-105)
  • Leg 3: Trey Mancini 1+ Hit (-170)

The Diamondbacks will send Zach Davies to the mound for tonight’s game. Davies is a right-handed pitcher with a 5.23 xFIP over the last 30 days.

Davies has allowed 45.1% of hard contact when the ball is put into play and a BABIP of .348 over the last 30 days.

Lefties have a wOBA of .358 with an ISO of .259 over the last month against Davies, while righties have a .389 wOBA against Davies.

Jose Altuve is hitting a .229 ISO and wOBA of .386 against his last 79 righties and should be a significant threat in tonight’s game, batting first. Kyle Tucker has limited his strikeouts to under 15% and is a left-handed batter with an ISO of .172 through the last month. He’s also limiting ground balls against righties lately.

Finally, Trey Mancini has hit 25% of line drives against righties over the last 30 days. He’s struck out 27.9% of the time against righties in the previous 30 days, but Davies isn’t known for high strikeouts. If he puts the ball in play, a hard line drive is likely the outcome.

Bet on the Astros tonight.

Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels

  • Leg 1: Mike Trout 2+ Total Bases (+115)
  • Leg 2: Shohei Ohtani 2+Total Bases (-115)
  • Leg 3: Taylor Ward 2+ Total Bases  (+120)

The Angels have just three consistent bats in their lineup against righties.

Those three batters include Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Taylor Ward. They’ll be 2-3-4 in the order and take on James Kaprielian of the Athletics.

Kaprielian has a 5.13 xFIP over the last 30 days with low strikeouts and high walks. He won’t induce many ground balls but has allowed 41.8% of hard contact in the previous 30 days when balls are hit into play.

Kaprielian has held teams to a .241 BABIP, but it will be hard to sustain that number when he’s not getting high strikeouts and allows a lot of hard contact.

Trout is hitting a .311 ISO and wOBA of .402 against his last 85 righties, while Shohei Ohtani is hitting a .250 ISO with a wOBA of .365 in his previous month against righties. Behind those two is Taylor Ward, also hitting a .215 ISO with a wOBA of .376 over his last 73 plate appearances.

Look for those three to trade places at second base a couple of times.
