Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees
- Leg 1: Over 9 Runs (-108)
- Leg 2: Blue Jays Over 3.5 Runs (-130)
- Leg 3: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)
The Blue Jays started this series with a bang by shelving their former teammate Marcus Stroman and grabbing the 8-5 win. Sitting last in one of the best divisions in baseball forced Toronto to become a seller and sent players like Justin Turner and Yusei Kikuchi packing.
One player still on the team is Vladimir Guerrero Jr., one of the hottest hitters. He has 17 hits in his last nine games, including two on Friday with an RBI.
July wasn't the best month for Jose Berrios, as he left with a 6.08 ERA. Hopefully, August can start how June ended, with a win against the Yankees, where he went seven innings and allowed two earned runs.
Even with last night’s loss, the Yankees’ rough patch could be behind them. They've won five of their previous six, and that five-game winning streak was their longest since June.
These wins have been thanks to the offense, as they averaged 9.2 runs during that five-game stretch. The pitching staff they have now is what they'll have for the rest of the season and its continued struggle with a 4.65 ERA in their last six games.
Carlos Rodon has had an up-and-down season. He started the season well, then fell off, but he might have turned it around with back-to-back quality starts.
The season series has seen the offense take over, as there have been nine or more runs in nine out of 11 games. Let's bank on another high-scoring game.
Parlay Odds: +565
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins
- Leg 1: Twins -1.5 (+130)
- Leg 2: White Sox Under 3.5 Runs (-135)
- Leg 3: Under 0.5 Runs First Inning (-130)
The White Sox are bad and could be the worst team in MLB history. They come into tonight’s matchup on an 18-game losing streak, five away from the record. In that span, they are last in batting average and 28th in ERA.
They traded a few players away, but the notable one still there is ace Garrett Crochet. Unfortunately, not even he can help Chicago win, as the team has lost his last seven starts.
The Twins have owned this series, winning 10 out of 11. They are not the same team as last year, but they could still be in contention for a playoff spot.
It was surprising they were quiet during the trade deadline. They added Trevor Richards to the bullpen, but it may not have been enough.
Bailey Ober has been on a stellar run. He's 5-1 with a 1.86 ERA and opponents are batting .186 against him over his last seven starts.
That one loss was against the White Sox, but it's hard to imagine Chicago getting out of this rut anytime soon.
