Chicago Cubs vs. Miami Marlins
- Leg 1: Pete Crow-Armstrong Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)
- Leg 2: Dansby Swanson Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)
- Leg 3: Ben Brown Over 5.5 Ks (-192)
The Miami Marlins will roll with Edward Cabrera for tonight’s matchup against the Cubs. Cabrera has struggled against his first 131 batters, allowing a .190 ISO and wOBA of .358. That said, he’s been way worse against righties, earning just 15.6% of strikeouts against righties. He’s also given up a .211 ISO and wOBA of .373 to his first 64 righties, while allowing nearly 32% of line drives.
Over the last 30 days, Pete Crow-Armstrong has socked a .366 ISO and wOBA of .433 against righties. The Chicago lead-off hitter has also struck out only 18.4% of the time and has earned nearly 41% of fly balls against righties in the last month. In addition, he’s earned a 20.3% barrel percentage, which is the best percentage of any player against a righty over the last 30 days in this lineup.
Meanwhile, Dansby Swanson has added a .296 ISO and wOBA of .465 against his last 81 righties. The right-hander shortstop has struck out at a high rate, but he’s also added 56.2% of hard contact with a 14.6% barrel percentage over the last 30 days against righties. That’s led him to a .488 BABIP.
Conversly, Ben Brown will get the call for the Cubs. The young righty has struck out 25.6% of batters this season. He’s also limited all 176 batters to a .119 ISO and just 25.2% of fly balls. He’s in line to face a Marlins lineup that has hit a .161 ISO and wOBA of .308 over the last 30 days against righties. This lineup also has three batters who have struck out more than 30% of the time over the last 30 days against righties. Ultimately, five batters have struck out at least 21% of the time against righties. I’d expect Brown to pitch pretty deep in this game and earn at least six strikeouts against this Marlins lineup.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
- Leg 1: Corbin Carroll Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)
- Leg 2: Ketel Marte Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)
- Leg 3: Eugenio Suarez Over 1.5 Toal Bases (+100)
The Los Angeles Dodgers will throw Landon Knack against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The right-hander has allowed a .212 ISO and wOBA of .373 to his first 75 batters. He’s also allowed 36% of line drives, while inducing only 34% of ground balls. In addition, he’s struck out just 22.7% of batters and has walked nearly 11% to start the season.
Knack has given up a 12% barrel percentage and 64% of hard contact.
That said, facing the Diamondbacks isn’t ideal.
Against righties, Corbin Carroll has smoked a .324 ISO and wOBA of .392 against his last 83 righties. He’s also smashed 71.7% of hard contact and a 15.1% barrel percentage. Carroll has absolutely dominated and is currently an MVP candidate. However, Ketel Marte has done even better against righties than Carroll over the last month. Marte has earned a .433 ISO and wOBA of .453 as a left-handed hitter against righties over the last 30 days. He’s added 80% of hard contact during that time and has earned a team-best 20% barrel percentage against righties.
Finally, Eugenio Suarez has rocked a .403 ISO and wOBA of .468 against his last 77 righties. The right-hander has driven 44.6% of line drives but has only hit 21.4% of ground balls against righties.
These three Diamondbacks bats could produce some big numbers against Knack tonight.
