Los Angeles Angels vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Shane Baz will get the start for the Rays tonight. He’s a right-handed pitcher who struck out 43.5% of his first 23 batters this season. Baz also allowed no walks and a .000 ISO in his season debut this year. Meanwhile, he’ll take on an Angels lineup with six batters who have struck out at least 25% of the time against righties dating back to last year. Ultimately, Baz has six targets and needs six strikeouts.

On the other hand, Kyle Hendricks will get the call. The veteran righty struck out just 15.2% of batters last season. To start this year with his new club, Hendricks has struck out only 16.7% of batters. That said, he’s in line to face a Rays lineup with only three batters that have struck out at least 22.6% of the time against righties. Hendricks isn’t known for his high strikeouts and doesn’t have a ton of targets to begin with.

In addition, Hendricks has allowed a .300 ISO and wOBA of .388 to his first ten righties. Junior Caminero hasn’t started the season hot at all. However, over his last 175 plate appearances against righties, Caminero has hit a .175 ISO against righties. Let’s take him to earn at least two total bases to close out this parlay.

    Texas Rangers vs. Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs will pitch Jameson Taillon tonight. He’s a right-handed thrower who has already allowed a .302 ISO and wOBA of .400 to his first 47 batters faced this season. Ultimately, Corey Seager is the best bet in the Texas lineup. He’s hit a .254 ISO and wOBA of .391 against his last 393 righties dating back to last season while striking out below 15% of the time.

On the other hand, Patrick Corbin will get the start for the Rangers. The lefty allowed a .205 ISO and wOBA of .377 to 621 righties last season. Tonight, he’ll face many right-handed lethal hitters in the Chicago lineup. Seiya Suzuki has smashed a .210 ISO and wOBA of .390 against his last 147 lefties, while Dansby Swanson has recorded a .195 ISO and wOBA of .382 against his last 133 lefties. Those two have terrific matchups against Corbin tonight.
