MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Monday (7/27)
Both of my MLB same-game parlays (SGPs) from last Monday went 2-1. Thus, there is solace in the fact that they were profitable as individual picks even if they came close to hitting from a parlay perspective.
For Monday’s 12-game MLB slate, I focus on divisional rivalries in both leagues. The first SGP is from the early 2:35 p.m. ET afternoon matchup, so bettors should be sure to get their wagers in early.

Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers
- Leg 1: Mariners Moneyline (-145)
- Leg 2: Wyatt Langford Over 1.5 Total Bases (+122)
- Leg 3: Dominic Canzone Over 0.5 RBI (+169)
George Kirby has arguably been Seattle's most consistent starting pitcher. The team is 3-1 in his last four outings, with the only loss coming in a game it was shut out.
Kirby has made six consecutive quality starts, and logged at least six strikeouts in four of those outings. He’s been a workhorse in two starts against the Rangers this season, throwing 13.2 innings while allowing four runs with a 9:2 K:BB ratio. On the other side, Kumar Rocker has made a team-high five scoreless starts. But Texas is just 3-3 with a -7 run differential in his last six.
Wyatt Langford is slashing .389/.405/.583 in 36 at-bats against the Mariners. Five of his hits against them have gone for extra bases, and he has exceeded this projected total on hits alone in four of his last eight games, with that many multi-hit performances in that span.
Langford is just 4-for-17 in his career against George Kirby. However, the righty is susceptible to hits, with seven or more allowed in six out of seven starts since the start of June.

Dominic Canzone has a home run in four at-bats against Rocker. Furthermore, his 87th percentile barrel rate and average exit velocity suggest he is due for positive regression from his OPS that dipped from 1.027 in June to .567 this month. I expect a big day from him at the plate after coming up with arguably the team’s biggest hit of the season.

Philadelphia Phillies at Miami Marlins
- Leg 1: Phillies Moneyline (-181)
- Leg 2: Under 7.5 Runs (-105)
- Leg 3: Brandon Marsh Over 0.5 Hits (-240)
My narrative for this pick was going to be “something’s gotta give,” as Miami entered Sunday being outscored 54-to-27 over an 11-game losing streak and falling under .500 for the first time since the start of play on June 19th, while Philadelphia had lost six of eight games and scored 25 runs with 82 strikeouts over that span.
Philadelphia’s win over the Yankees yesterday quelled my doubts over the National League playoff contender. It took care of business in a game where New York was the biggest underdog it’s been since 2023.
The Phillies’ offensive struggles are why I expect them to win, albeit in a low-scoring game. But I’m leaving the first leg of this SGP as a Moneyline play, as every game in Miami’s now franchise-long 12-game losing streak has been decided by three or fewer runs.
For added value, I am backing Brandon Marsh to record one hit. He is 3-for-5 with a home run against Marlins righty Tyler Phillips, and he entered yesterday in the top 20 in batting average.
