MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Monday (9/7)
Monday’s MLB slate is much more loaded than usual for this late in the season, as 11 games are on tap to celebrate Labor Day. But given how hard it is to cash MLB same-game parlays (SGPs), I’m only adding two three-leg SGPs to my betting portfolio.

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins
- Leg 1: Marlins Moneyline (-131)
- Leg 2: Eury Perez Under 2.5 Earned Runs (-181)
- Leg 3: Heriberto Hernandez 1+ Hits (-163)
The Marlins fell to 71-72 with Saturday’s loss to the Cubs, marking the first time they were under .500 since the start of play on August 8th. But I expect Miami to get back in the win column against a Mets squad they have beaten in six out of their last 10 head-to-head meetings, largely because of the confidence I have in Eury Perez.
Perez has allowed 11 earned runs over his last 7.2 innings. But he is also the same starter who posted a 1.80 ERA over his first 11 starts following an injured list (IL) stint. Perez also had a 12-start span in which he posted a 1.67 ERA, the third-lowest in the Majors over that span (minimum 70 innings from May 22nd to the end of his streak).
I am adding Heriberto Hernandez to record at least one hit for extra value as the third leg of this SGP. Last week he had a 20-game on-base streak during which he logged a .995 OPS.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Kansas City Royals
- Leg 1: Royals Moneyline (-116)
- Leg 2: Noah Cameron Under 2.5 Earned Runs (-112)
- Leg 3: Bobby Witt Jr. 1+ Hits (-316)
At one point in the not-too-distant past, Kansas City was playing the best team in the Majors. The Royals were an American League-best 14-5 in their first 19 games after August 14th. A big reason for the spurt was that they had the best pitcher in August, Noah Cameron.
Cameron had a three-start win streak snapped in his last outing. But he still entered his last appearance with a 4-0 record, 1.29 ERA and 0.72 WHIP in his last seven outings.
Arizona has much more to play for given its half-game lead for the third Wild Card spot in the National League. But that could also lead to nerves and tightness, which has shown up in an offense that has scored two or fewer runs in five of its last seven games.
Bobby Witt Jr. is as safe a play as one can add as a third leg for more value. He has hit safely in five out of six games this month, and in 13 of his last 16 overall.
