Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels

The Athletics will send Luis Severino to the mound tonight. The right-hander has struck out just 20.8% of batters over the last 30 days. That’s down from his overall season number of 22.4%. Still, he’s facing a projected Angels lineup that has struck out 30.5% of the time against righties over the last month. Severino has eight targets for strikeouts and is facing an Angels lineup that has really struggled against righties over the last month. This could be a quality start for Severino.

That said, Severino has still allowed a .423 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) to lefties over the last month. Nolan Schanuel has hit a .352 wOBA with 17.7% of strikeouts against righties over the last month. He’s the one player who can at least make contact and get a couple of base hits or an extra-base hit.

Jose Soriano has struck out just 23.3% of batters over the last month. He’s also walked almost 11% of batters over the last month. Soriano will battle an Athletics team that has struck out only 17% of the time against righties using their projected lineup over the last 30 days. Don’t expect Soriano to rack up strikeouts tonight.

Parlay Odds: +752

Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Colorado Rockies are set to pitch Tomoyuki Sugano tonight. The right-hander has allowed a .349 ISO and a wOBA of .436 to his last 49 lefties. Those lefties have hit a 17.9% barrel rate with 56.4% of hard contact and 30.8% of line drives.

Diamondbacks lefties should be able to take advantage.

Corbin Carroll has hit a .288 ISO and a wOBA of .336 against his last 65 righties. Additionally, Ildemaro Vargas has smacked a .147 ISO and a wOBA of .326 against righties over the last 30 days. Ketel Marte doesn’t have great numbers over the last month, but he’s turning it around lately. Plus, he’s struck out just 14.5% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. He’s at least putting the ball in play, and results are starting to follow.

Let’s stack up Diamondbacks lefties for this same-game parlay.
