MLB Same Game Parlays & Picks: Thursday (8/13)

You’d better get your bets in early. There are only three games on tonight’s MLB slate. The other six are being played during the day. Therefore, I’ve added two MLB same game parlays (SGPs) for the night shift below.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Minnesota Twins

Aaron Nola is scheduled to take the hill for the Phillies tonight. The right-hander has allowed a .280 ISO and wOBA of .390 to his last 119 batters, ultimately struggling against both sides of the plate.

Meanwhile, Trevor Larnach has hit a .200 ISO and a wOBA of .309 against his last 55 righties. Brooks Lee has contributed a .250 ISO and a wOBA of .345. Both of these batters have limited strikeouts against righties over the last month. Larnach leads the team with a 10% barrel rate against righties, and Lee has hit nearly 30% of fly balls with about 49% of hard contact against righties.

On the flip side, it’ll be Taj Bradley for the Twins. Bradley has struck out 24% of batters over the last month. However, that number has dropped over the course of the season. Tonight, he’ll take on a Phillies lineup that has combined to strike out below 18% of the time against righties. Let’s take Bradley’s under in strikeouts to close out this parlay.

Parlay Odds: +1089

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels

The Rangers are ready to send out Jacob deGrom for another start tonight. The righty has struck out nearly 26% of batters over the last month. Tonight, he’ll take on an Angels lineup that has contributed a .100 ISO and a wOBA of .265 with close to 25% of strikeouts over the month. We might get a classic Jacob deGrom start that we’ve ultimately missed in the second half of the season.

On the other hand, Walbert Urena is pitching for the Angels. The righty has added 22.9% of strikeouts over the last 30 days. When he faces the Rangers, he’ll have five candidates who have struck out at least 26% of the time against righties over the last month. That said, Joc Pederson is the one lefty who can have success against Urena. Pederson has hit a .434 ISO and a wOBA of .485 and should bat leadoff. He’ll have many opportunities to add at least two total bases to help this parlay cash.

Parlay Odds: +500
