NASCAR Futures: Updated 2024 Truck Series Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions

As the month of August begins, the NASCAR industry looks on when seven days from now, cars (and trucks) will be back on track for the first time since the two-week break for the 2024 Summer Olympics. After getting away myself for a few days in the mountains, I’m back, ready to continue firing bets on stock car racing.

So much so that this week, I’m bringing you a two-pack of articles covering the updated 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series and Truck Series Championship odds.

To round out this mid-season futures update, let’s see if we can’t sniff out the value in the chalk Truck Series title market.

NASCAR Futures: Updated 2024 Truck Series Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions

Odds Breakdown

Only five full-time Truck Series drivers have found victory lane this season in 15 races. Corey Heim and Christian Eckes have combined for eight of the 12 wins for the regulars, so it’s no surprise they are the heavy favorites.

Heim has 31 playoff points. Eckes has 22 and a commanding lead for the regular season championship, which will come with bonus playoff points. Aside from something catastrophic happening, Heim and Eckes will be racing for a championship in Phoenix.

The task now is predicting who else could make up the Championship 4 and whether they’re worth their current odds to win it all. Second-year full-time driver Nick Sanchez has won twice and scored 10 T10s in 15 races. He has as good a shot as anyone to make it to the end. Still, his current odds don’t align with his inexperience and last year’s late-season decline.

Ty Majeski, who’s led 302 laps and has a 40% T5 rate this season, is the other obvious choice to punch his ticket to Arizona. Yet, 6-1 doesn’t give you enough leeway, considering his up-and-down nature on the intermediates this season and his track record at Phoenix.

Instead, I’ll pivot to a more under-the-radar pick to make a run at the Craftsman Toolbox.

Grant Enfinger: Championship Winner (+1800 via FanDuel) | .5u

It was a rough start to the year for Truck Serie veteran Grant Efinger and this CR7 Motorsports team. However, they’re heating up, including four T3s in his last six races across various track types. The 39-year-old has now worked his way up to seventh in the points and is well above the playoffs cutline.

Ennfinger is a 10-time Truck Series winner who was just one spot away from winning the championship last season. He’s set up for another deep run this go-around. The playoffs open at The Milwaukee Mile, where Enfinger found victory lane last year. The Round of 8 includes Talladega (a crapshoot, but won there in 2016), Homestead (finished P4 last season) and Martinsville (won there in 2020).

At 18-1, I’ll back the elder statesman in a series full of young, inexperienced drivers. If he makes the Championship 4 and you place the future on FanDuel, a cashout will be on the table prior to the race. Whether you choose to take it or ride out the 18-1 in what can be a wild finale is up to you.
