NBA Best Bets Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (4/1)

After 13 games yesterday, the NBA has just two games on the slate tonight. That’s odd for a Saturday, but it’s likely due to the Final Four being played tonight in college basketball.

Here are some best bets for the two NBA games tonight.

Today’s Best NBA Bets

All wagers are 1 unit

Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat

The Dallas Mavericks are in jeopardy of not even making the NBA Play-In games. This after the Mavericks decided to trade for Kyrie Irving. Dallas still has one of the best offenses in the NBA. The Mavericks have scored 117.3 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 56.9%.

Dallas won’t dominate the offensive glass, but usually, it keeps turnovers down while getting to the foul line at a high rate. If Dallas can keep Miami from forcing turnovers, the Mavericks will succeed on the offensive end tonight.

Meanwhile, Dallas has given up 116.5 points per 100 possessions. The Mavericks foul at a high rate and the Heat get to the foul line at a high rate. But Miami still doesn’t take high-quality looks from the field. The Heat won’t be active on the glass, especially if Bam Adebayo sits out of tonight’s game.

The Mavericks have looked terrible recently. but I’m going to back them anyway. This is a good matchup for them and essentially a must-win game.

Bet: Mavericks +1 (-110)

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The New Orleans Pelicans are suddenly hot. Just three weeks ago, this team was having a meltdown. They’re over .500 and looking to compete for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

They’ll be at home against a Clippers team that they’ve already beaten twice this season.

The Clippers are rarely active on the offensive glass. Meanwhile, the Pelicans have held teams to 25.2% of offensive rebounds. Los Angeles has also turned the ball over 14.5% of the time this season, while the Pelicans have earned 15% of turnovers. New Orleans has been sneaky on the defensive end this year.

On the flip side, the Pelicans aren’t an above-average offense. But they’ve scored 131 and 112 in their two games against the Clippers this season. The Pelicans aren’t just winning, but they’re winning by wide margins with a ton of points.

I’m backing the Pelicans at -3.

Bet: Pelicans -3 (-110
