NBA Best Bets Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (1/10)

There’s no matchup between two teams over .500 in tonight’s NBA slate.

However, I don’t look at that like it isn’t good. The league is more competitive and makes us all work harder to cap some of these games.

I’ve added two of my favorite bets for tonight’s NBA games below.

And check out our other picks for Tuesday:

Top NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (1/10)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Utah Jazz

The Jazz had a superb start to their season. But now they’re 20-23 on the year and will welcome Donovan Mitchell back to Utah for the first time since he left.

The Cavaliers destroyed the Jazz, 122-99, in the first meeting between these two teams. With the way the Jazz have defended recently, a result like that seems just as likely tonight.

The Jazz are allowing 116.6 points per 100 possessions. They’ve also given up 28.6% offensive rebounds. The defense is below average in every vital category coming into this game. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are above average in most categories, except turnovers, where they’ve committed 14.6% per game.

Utah’s offense has been outstanding. The Jazz have earned 117.4 points per 100 possessions and shoot an effective field goal percentage of 55.7%. Utah is even active on the offensive glass. But this is a tough matchup against a Cleveland team that also ranks third in points per 100 possessions on the defensive side.

The Cavs have held teams to a 53.8% effective field goal percentage and have allowed under 25% offensive rebounds. They’ve also limited foul shots at a top-ten rate and earned 15.2% of turnovers.

I’ll back the Cavaliers against the spread, even on the road.

Bet: Cavaliers -3.5 (-110

Orlando Magic vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The Orlando Magic will take on the Portland Trail Blazers for the first time this season. Orlando has been trading wins with losses recently, while the Blazers have lost four of their last five games.

Orlando’s offense has been a bit weak this season. They’re currently in tank mode, with just 15 wins on the year. The offense has averaged 111.1 points per 100 possessions, and the Magic have turned the ball over 15.5% of the time. Orlando is getting to the foul line at a high rate but doesn’t do anything else consistently.

On the other hand, the Blazers have easily been the better offense, earning 114.7 points per 100 possessions. However, Portland has more success on offense due to its offensive rebounding but against the Magic those second chances will be limited. The Blazers are also aggressive and get to the foul line at a high rate, but the Magic usually limit fouls and keep teams off the line at a good rate.

Therefore, I like the Under 230 in this matchup.

Bet: Under 230 (-110)
