Today’s Best NBA Bets

Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook, all wagers are 1 unit

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost three straight games. At 39-40 on the season, Minnesota probably can’t afford any more losses.

They’ll head out on the road to take on a Brooklyn Nets team that has won four of their last five games. The offense is clicking, scoring at least 123 in three of their previous four wins.

The Nets have shot an effective field goal percentage of 56.8%. That’s 5th best in the league. Brooklyn typically won’t dominate the offensive glass, but it’ll be hard to get stops if the Nets continue to get good looks from the floor. The Nets should see the foul line at a higher rate, knowing Minnesota’s free throw rate is 22.8.

Plus, the Timberwolves could be without Karl-Anthony Towns tonight. He’s questionable with a calf injury but also has an illness. I’ll back the Nets at home.

Bet: Nets -1 (-110)

Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans are playing terrific basketball, specifically at home. That’s where they’ll be tonight against the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings have the best offense in the NBA. The team has scored 120 points per 100 possessions and has shot an effective field goal percentage of 57.8%. However, the Kings won’t do well on the offensive glass, and the Pelicans have held opponents to just 113 points per 100 possessions.

While the Kings dominate offensively, their defense isn’t excellent. Their opponents have scored 117.2 points per 100 possessions this season and the Kings have allowed a 56.6% effective field goal percentage.

New Orleans is much more active on the offensive glass. They’ll likely earn more second chances, even against a Kings unit that has given up just 25.2% of offensive rebounds. And while the Kings should get to the foul line more, the Pelicans will be the team getting better looks from the floor.

I’ll back the Pelicans -3.5 in this one.

Bet: Pelicans -3.5 (-110
