NBA Finals Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Game 2 (Heat vs. Nuggets)

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, 104-93. The Nuggets continue to look like the best team in the NBA, behind efforts from their star players, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

The Nuggets are deep and play their roles nicely.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat are getting great minutes from some of their bench players. But production has been inconsistent from most of those guys.

Will anything change in Game 2 of the NBA Finals?

Here are a couple of same-game parlays to consider for tonight.

Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets

  • Leg 1: Michael Porter Jr. Under 15.5 Points (+100)
  • Leg 2: Aaron Gordon Under 13.5 Points (-120)
  • Leg 3: Max Strus Over 9.5 Points (-111)

Michael Porter Jr. has been terrific on the glass. But his offensive game hasn’t been consistent in the playoffs. He added 14 points on 5-for-16 from the field in Game 1 of the Finals. Porter Jr. shot 2-for-11 from deep and 31.3% from the field. He’s scored 16 or more points in just three of his last ten games.

I’ll also take Aaron Gordon’s under. Gordon played 36 minutes for the Nuggets in Game 1 and scored 16 points on 7-for-10 from the field. Gordon’s volume wasn’t high; instead, his role was to defend at a high level. His defense could land him on the bench early. But I also think it’ll keep him from scoring at a high level moving forward.

Finally, Max Strus was terrible in Game 1. He shot 0-for-9 from downtown and didn’t make a single field goal. But he nailed about two threes per game against the Celtics and made almost three threes against the Knicks in a series before the Eastern Conference Finals. Despite his misses, he continued shooting the ball from downtown. He’ll be fine and hit his shots in his next opportunity.

Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets

  • Leg 1: Bam Adebayo Over 3.5 Assists (-125)
  • Leg 2: Nikola Jokic Over 10.5 Assists (-138)
  • Leg 3: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Over 2.5 Rebounds (-166)

Let’s let the big guys cook.

Bam Adebayo took 25 shots in Game 1. I’m not sure how sustainable that is. But he also had five assists and 13 rebounds in 40 minutes. The ball was always in his hands, and he was always doing something good with the ball. He’s earned at least four assists in three of his last five games.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic added 14 assists in Game 1. He had nearly 12 assists per game against the Lakers in four games and then came through with 14 against the Heat. Jokic is extremely efficient and won’t take poor shots. He went 8-for-12 from the field and made more assists than shot attempts. His unselfishness goes a long way.

Finally, I like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to add at least three rebounds. He’s hit this line in four straight games and has also nailed this line in seven of his last ten games. He earned 36 minutes and hauled in three rebounds. Against the Lakers, he also averaged about 34 minutes a game and added three rebounds per night.
