NBA Finals Same Game Parlays: Monday (Pacers vs. Thunder)

The Indiana Pacers couldn’t hold on in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and now the series is tied 2-2, with Game 5 set to take place at the Paycom Center.

The Thunder have been heavy favorites throughout the NBA Finals. However, the Pacers have proved they belong and have ultimately made this series an exciting one. That said, the Thunder are still nearly 10-point favorites heading into tonight’s showdown.

The oddsmakers aren’t giving the Pacers much of a chance. Ultimately, the Pacers have proven over and over again they can’t be ruled out. But will that Game 4 loss destroy Indiana’s momentum heading into Game 5?

I added a same-game parlay (SGP) for tonight’s Game 5 matchup below.

Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has made at least 10 free throws in two of his last three games. Whether he deserves the calls or not, he gets them and will continue to get them in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Pacers. In addition, he has attempted at least 20 shots in every game of this series. He’s also attempted at least 24 shots in four of his last six games.

Beyond that, Gilgeous-Alexander has a 48.1% field goal percentage over the last 100 games in the playoffs. He’s got high volume, but is almost shooting 50%, while getting to the foul line at a super-high rate. Meanwhile, the Pacers rank 28th in free throws made by point guards and 27th in points allowed to point guards. This will always be an intriguing matchup for Gilgeous-Alexander.

That said, Gilgeous-Alexander is not so good on the glass. He’s added at least six rebounds in only 40% of games this year. He’s also recorded at least six rebounds in just one of the four NBA Finals games. In Game 4, he finished with only three rebounds after earning only three rebound chances. He’s had no more than five rebound chances in three of the last four games. Ultimately, the Pacers rank first in the NBA in rebounds allowed to point guards. Don’t expect many opportunities for Gilgeous-Alexander on the glass, despite being on the floor for 40 minutes.

In this series, Chet Holmgren has added at least two assists in a game just once. He’s recorded at least two assists in only 46% of games this season and has hit this line in just one of his last six games. Additionally, Holmgren has averaged 0.9 assists per game in his previous eight games against the Pacers. He’s added at least two assists in just two of those eight games. Plus, the Pacers rank third in the NBA in assists allowed to centers this season. They’ve held centers in check at least from an assists perspective.
