Sunday’s Best NBA First Basket Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics

The Celtics are coming off another home loss against a Lebron and Anthony Davis-less Lakers. They get a much easier matchup tonight against the Grizzlies, who have dropped four straight. Boston has been one of the best teams at grabbing the first basket, and this year, they are second at 63%. Memphis will be without Jaren Jackson Jr., and that’s big for Porzingis. It will help him get the first basket.

Pick: Kristaps Porzingis (+500)

Portland Trail Blazers at Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets have won three of their last four, including a win against the Trail Blazers on Friday. In that game, Michael Porter Jr. got the first basket. Denver should be in an excellent position to get the first points as they are eighth in first-basket percentage, and Portland is 27th. Porter is a solid pick, but the Blazers have surrendered the most first-basket to centers, and Jokic’s 15 are the second-most in the league.

Pick: Nikola Jokic (+440)

Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons

The Pistons are the worst team in the league, with the lowest winning percentage. One thing they have been good at is first baskets, with the third-highest percentage in the league. They are good position against the Magic, who have the fifth-highest percentage of allowed first baskets. They’ve struggled against guards, and Cade Cunningham leads the team with eight first baskets.

Pick: Cade Cunningham (+800)
