Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs

Yet again, Victor Wembanyama won the opening tip in Game 5, giving the Spurs the first chance to score. De’Aaron Fox missed that first shot, and the Thunder eventually scored first. However, the Spurs continue to gain possession first and earn the first attempt.

In the regular season, Wembanyama won over 90% of his opening tips. He’s been just as good in the playoffs and has even scored a handful of first baskets himself.

In most games, Wembanyama shoots the ball first when the Spurs gain possession. However, in Game 5, that wasn’t the case. He didn’t take his first shot until late in the first quarter.

With all hands on deck, look for the Spurs to be more aggressive early in getting Wembanyama the ball. He needs to produce if the Spurs want to force a Game 7. Let’s ride Wembanyama to score first today.

Pick: Victor Wembanyama (+340)
