NBA Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Monday (Heat vs. Celtics)

The Boston Celtics earned a Game 6 victory over the Miami Heat in the final second of the game on Saturday.

Boston had an improbable win, but that win might not even be the most improbable thing to happen to the Celtics in this series.

The Boston Celtics are one win away from becoming the first team to return from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs. They’ll be the first team trying to earn this feat at home. They’ll also be heavy favorites after losing their first three games of this series.

It’s crazy how quickly the tables have turned. Boston was a Game 4 loss away from having their fans riot, asking for Joe Mazzulla to be fired. Now he’s positioned the Celtics to be one win away from another NBA Finals appearance.

It’s Game 7. We need some action on this game. Here are a couple of same-game parlays to consider for tonight.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics

Jimmy Butler has earned just 29 or more points in one game in this series. In Game 6, he took 21 shots and made just five field goals in 47 minutes. He was active and got to the line 14 times. But even with 12 foul shots and 21 shots, Butler only scored 24 points. He’s had games where his volume is low and others with his volume high. But he’s shooting just 41.7% from the field in this series. I’ll gladly take his Under.

On the other hand, Caleb Martin is now third on the Heat in scoring during the playoffs. He’s averaged 18.2 points per game and is coming off 21 points in Game 6. He went 4-for-8 from downtown and has now hit at least two threes in every game in this series. Martin has also shot over 58% from the field while attempting 12 field goals per night. He’s the X-factor for the Heat. I’m on his over.

Meanwhile, it looks like Jaylen Brown has found his shot again. He went 9-for-16 from the field, despite shooting 0-for-4 from downtown. Brown got to the foul line and was aggressive on the offensive end. Because of that, he only had three assists. Brown has added three or fewer assists in four of his last five games. As long as he stays aggressive, his assist total will stay low.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics

Brown dominated on the glass in Game 6, adding 10 rebounds. But he’s still averaging just 5.8 rebounds per game in the series. He has six or fewer rebounds in four games against the Heat. The ball found him in Game 6, but Brown isn’t consistently adding high rebounds to the box score every game. He’s hit this number in 30% of his last 20 games.

It’s also clear that the Heat is going to go with the hot hand. Max Strus played just 25 minutes in Game 6 and shot 3-for-8 from the field. He’s been off for the last two games and has earned just one rebound in his last two games. Before the last two games, Strus added at least three rebounds in three of his previous four. He’s hit this line in seven of his last ten games. I think he’ll get his minutes in Game 7.

But despite the minutes, don’t expect Strus to nail three or more threes. He’s only hit three threes in one game in this series. And that was in Game 1. Strus is only hitting 34.4% from downtown and hasn’t taken more than five threes in all three of Miami’s losses. He won’t be dominating from three-point range in this game.
