Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks
- Leg 1: Jalen Brunson Under 27.5 Points (-108)
- Leg 2: Cade Cunningham Over 28.5 Points (-125)
- Leg 3: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 23.5 Points (-104)
Jalen Brunson hasn’t scored 28 or more points since returning from his injury. He’s added 27 points multiple times, but hasn’t been able to get to 28. Meanwhile, he’ll battle a Detroit defense that ranks 14th in points allowed to point guards this season. The Pistons also rank 9th in field goal percentage allowed to point guards and have allowed just 8.3 field goals made from point guards per season. Remember, Brunson has shot just 48.4% from the field and has hit 35.2% from downtown this year. It’ll be hard to improve on these numbers against the Pistons, especially in Game 1 of the series.
On the other hand, Cade Cunningham has been doing some special things. The Pistons’ point guard has scored at least 35 points in three straight games. He’s also hit at least 35 points in four of his last five games. He actually added 36 points against the Knicks back on April 10. Ultimately, the Knicks rank 29th in points allowed to point guards this season. The Knicks have also allowed point guards to hit a high three-point rate. In addition, New York ranks 29th in field goals made to point guards. I’ll trust Cunningham on the road.
If it’s not Brunson scoring, someone on the Knicks has to. I like Karl-Anthony Towns to be that guy. The Pistons rank 19th in points allowed to centers this season. They’re also in the bottom ten in three-point makes allowed to centers and rank 29th in free throw attempts allowed to centers. Look for KAT to take advantage. He’s already added at least 24 points in seven of his last ten games and scored 25 against the Pistons on April 10.

Minnesota Timberwolves bs. Los Angeles Lakers
- Leg 1: Jaden McDaniels Under 11.5 Points (-130)
- Leg 2: Luka Doncic Under 7.5 Assists (-136)
- Leg 3: LeBron James Under 7.5 Rebounds (-146)
Jaden McDaniels has added at least 12 points in just one of his last six games. He’s added at least 12 points in just one of his last five and three of his last ten games. In addition, he’s earned at least 12 points in just 46% of games this season. Furthermore, McDaniels has earned at least 12 points in just four of his last 14 head-to-head matchups against the Lakers, averaging only 9.8 points per game. The Lakers rank 16th in points allowed to power forwards, but still rank in the top ten in field goal percentage allowed to power forwards.
On the other hand, Luka Doncic of the Lakers has added at least eight assists in none of his last six games. He’s also earned at least eight assists in just 44% of games this season. Meanwhile, he’ll take on a Minnesota defense that still ranks 12th in the NBA in assists allowed to point guards this season. That’s an above-average rank for the Timberwolves, and Doncic has been below his typical average in the assist category over the last ten games.
I’ll also fade LeBron James. James has earned at least eight rebounds in only 46% of games this season. He’s also missed this line in six consecutive games. James has added at least eight rebounds in just two of his last ten games and will battle a Minnesota defense that ranks 11th in rebounds allowed to small forwards this season.
