NBA Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Thursday (5/8)
The Golden State Warriors will battle the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of their second-round series tonight. Ultimately, Golden State escaped Minnesota in the first game, mainly playing without Stephen Curry due to a hamstring strain.
It’s now expected that Curry won’t even be available until Game 6 or Game 7, if necessary.
Can the Timberwolves take advantage of Curry’s absence and tie the series at one? I’ve added a same-game parlay for tonight’s Western Conference showdown below.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves
- Leg 1: Brandin Podziemski Under 12.5 Points (-104)
- Leg 2: Anthony Edwards Under 27.5 Points (-110)
- Leg 3: Jaden McDaniels Under 5.5 Rebounds (-118)
Brandin Podziemski has scored at least 13 points in just 38% of games this season. He’s scored no more than ten points in five of his last six playoff games and has totaled at least 13 points in just one of seven games against the Timberwolves. Podziemski could get more minutes with Curry on the shelf, but he’s shot just 33.3% from the field over the last ten games. In Game 1 of this series, Podziemski nailed just 14% of his seven looks. In addition, Podziemski has shot below 30% from downtown over the last ten games. Meanwhile, Minnesota ranks 7th in field goal percentage allowed to shooting guards and doesn’t often allow shooting guards to get a ton of volume up.
Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards has added at least 28 points in 48% of games this season. He’s also hit this line in four of his last 15 games against the Warriors. Edwards has shot 43.5% from the field and 32.4% from three. He also took the fewest amount of three-point attempts in a game this playoffs when facing the Warriors in Game 1. Right now, the Warriors rank 11th in the NBA in points allowed to shooting guards this season. Golden State also ranks 9th in field goal attempts from shooting guards this season. In another potential low-scoring, defensive-minded game, I’ll take Edwards to go under 27.5 points.
Finally, consider Jaden McDaniels to record below six rebounds tonight. He’s added just seven rebounds in his last two games combined. In those two games, he’s had no more than eight rebound chances in either of them. As a matter of fact, McDaniels has averaged just nine rebound chances per game. He’s added at least six rebounds in just two of his last ten games and has averaged just 3.2 rebounds in his last 15 games against the Golden State. Ultimately, the Warriors rank 6th in the NBA in rebounds allowed to power forwards this season. McDaniels doesn’t have a great matchup on the glass.
