NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions: Saturday (2/8)
With the Super Bowl tomorrow, the NBA added 11 games to today’s slate. With so many games on the horizon, I’ve added some PrizePicks square you should consider.
Like every NBA PrizePicks article, we’ll give out four player predictions you can use for a four-leg Power Play entry. A two-leg Power Play entry will give you implied odds of -137 for each prediction. A three-leg Power Play entry will give you implied odds of -141. A four-leg NBA PrizePicks Power Play entry will give you implied odds of -128 for each prediction.
Getting -128 on the same prediction is better than -137 or -141. Here are our top NBA PrizePicks player predictions for tonight’s action.
Remember that a Flex play can still win if one pick misses, but you’d get lower payouts.
Jaylen Brown More Than 21.5 Points
Jaylen Brown has scored at least 22 points in 60% of games this season. He’s also averaged 23.2 points per game this year.
In addition, he’s added at least 22 points in six of his last 10 games and is coming off a 25-point performance against the Mavericks a couple of days ago.
Meanwhile, he’ll take on a Knicks defense ranked 28th in the NBA in points allowed to small forwards. New York has allowed more than three three-pointers to small forwards per game and has allowed nearly nine field goals made per game to small forwards.
Brown’s usage has hovered around 28% over the last 10 games and has scored nearly nine field goals per game. This is a great spot for Brown.
Klay Thompson More Than 11.5 Points
After a 25-point outburst against the Celtics on Thursday, I’m all in on Klay Thompson tonight. Thompson has added at least 12 points in 67% of games this season. He’s also added at least 12 points in five of his last six games.
Meanwhile, Boston only ranks 18th in points allowed to shooting guards this season. Additionally, the Celtics have watched shooting guards nail more than 41% of shots this season, which ranks 25th in the NBA.
Additionally, Thompson could find the foul line a couple of times, as the Celtics have allowed shooting guards to make more than four free-throw attempts per game this season.
Michael Porter Jr. Less Than 20.5 Points
Michael Porter Jr. has scored at least 30 points in three consecutive games. However, I think his streak will finally conclude tonight. He’s taking on a Suns defense that currently ranks second in the NBA in points allowed to small forwards.
Small forwards have only added 6.81 field goals made per game against the Suns. Plus, the Suns have held small forwards to a 38.48% field goal rate, which ranks second in the NBA.
Porter’s usage has been up over the last three games. But you’d have to imagine it’ll drop against the Suns tonight. Take the less than.
Lonzo Ball Less Than 8.5 Points
Lonzo Ball has averaged just 7.2 points per game this season. He’s also nailed at least nine points in just two of seven head-to-head matchups against the Warriors.
Why?
The Warriors have been a dominant defense against point guards through the last few seasons.
This year specifically, the Warriors have allowed the sixth-fewest points to point guards. Point guards have shot just above 38% from the field and have hit 27.08% from downtown. It’s also hard to get shots up against the Warriors as a point guard. Golden State ranks sixth in the NBA in field goals attempted from point guards. Take the less than here.
