In Games 3 and 4, Dereck Lively II added at least 12 rebounds in both games. He’s not starting games. But he’s earning more minutes than Daniel Gafford. In those two games, Lively II has earned back-to-back double-doubles with 11 points and 12+ rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving averaged just 2.5 assists against the Celtics this season. He’s had two games with six assists and two games with just two assists against the Celtics in the playoffs. The pattern started with two assists. Then he earned six. After the six-assist game, he went back to two assists and then earned his six assists in Game 4. If the pattern continues, Irving won’t earn many assists in Game 5.

However, Jrue Holiday should. After all, he averaged 6.5 assists against the Mavericks this season. He’s only contributed just under four assists per game in the NBA Finals but has earned at least five assists in two of the four games. If Holiday’s assist pattern is the same as Irving’s, Holiday will earn five assists in tonight’s game.

Over the last two games, Derrick Jones Jr. has attempted just six shots. He’s also earned no more than 17 minutes in either game and has made only three shot attempts in those two games. That said, he’s added no more than five points in three of the first four games in the NBA Finals and is losing minutes to some of the bench due to his unproductivity.

Meanwhile, Luka Doncic has shot 47% from the floor but just 25% from downtown. He struggled from three over the two home games but still drilled at four three-pointers in both road games. Lucky for Doncic, he’ll have a road game against the Celtics tonight. The three-ball should start to fall again for Luka.

Lastly, consider Derrick White to earn at least four assists. He averaged 5.2 assists per game this season and earned 4.5 assists against the Mavericks in the regular season. White and the rest of the Celtics were terrible in Game 4, but he added at least four assists in two of the other three games.
