Monday’s Best NBA Summer League Picks
NBA odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook | All picks are for 1 unit
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA Summer League Picks
The Oklahoma City Thunder lost its first game of the NBA Summer League to the Memphis Grizzlies. Oklahoma City finished with 80 points, thanks to Ajay Mitchell’s 24 points. Mitchell and Nikola Topic were the two main contributors. The rest of the Thunder roster didn’t play all that well. Brooks Barnhizer secured 13 rebounds and nine points, but again, the depth is simply lacking on this Thunder squad.
Additionally, Oklahoma City turned the ball over 25 times and shot just 64.7% from the foul line against Memphis.
They’ll battle a Philadelphia 76ers team that has to be excited about VJ Edgecombe. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite these numbers, the 76ers still lost to the Utah Jazz. Still, the 76ers have an exciting starting lineup between Edgecombe, Adem Bona, Justin Edwards, Johni Broome and Jalen Hood-Schifino. Judah Mintz even contributed 11 points in 22 minutes.
There is a lot more potential with this 76ers group. Back Philadelphia -2.
Best Bet: 76ers -2 (-110)
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Utah Jazz NBA Summer League Picks
The Memphis Grizzlies got 20 points each from GG Jackson and Jaylen Wells. They also got another 14 points from Cam Spencer. Ultimately, this Memphis team has a lot of NBA experience, which helped them escape the Thunder on Saturday. Memphis didn’t shoot the ball particularly well, hitting only 42.6% from the field. However, the Grizzlies nailed 37% from three and hit 24-of-25 from the foul line. They also forced 25 turnovers against the Thunder in the win.
Meanwhile, they’ll take on a Utah Jazz team that also has plenty of players with NBA experience. Kyle Filipowski scored 22 points, and Brice Sensabaugh scored 19 points in the win. Cody Williams contributed 14 points, and Isaiah Collier filled up the box score. In addition, Ace Bailey showed some signs of potential after scoring eight points. He also hauled in seven rebounds and made a couple of solid defensive plays.
Ultimately, the Jazz went with a nine-man rotation and played everyone at least 14 minutes. With a smaller rotation, it allowed each player to get into a rhythm and also helped the Jazz play with some cohesion.
The Jazz and Grizzlies each scored 90+ points in their openers. I’d expect nothing less in this game, knowing both teams have plenty of NBA-level talent on their rosters.
Let’s ride the over in this game.
Best Bet: Over 183.5 Points (-110)
