Sunday’s Best NBA Summer League Picks & Bets

Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics NBA Summer League Picks

The Atlanta Hawks are 4-0 in the Summer League at Las Vegas. However, due to tiebreaker rules, they will not be playing in the championship. Instead, they’ll close out the Summer League with a game against the 3-1 Boston Celtics.

The Hawks have been involved in a couple of close games recently. Atlanta earned a 111-108 win over Houston and escaped Memphis, 92-88, in their most recent game. Kobe Bufkin has been the bright spot for the Hawks. He’s a bona fide scorer. In addition, the Hawks are getting remarkable contributions from Jack McVeigh, who continues to produce big numbers off the bench. Asa Newell is still getting comfortable and improving in each game. Adam Flagler is another player who has scored significantly off the bench.

On the other hand, the Celtics have built a culture that has allowed them to play names like Jordan Walsh and Baylor Scheierman in the starting lineup. Those two were on Boston’s regular-season team last year. While the offense has been solid, the defense has been even better. Boston has allowed no more than 81 points in all three of their wins. It’s why the under is the most appealing play.

Pick: Under 185.5 Points (-115)

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers NBA Summer League Picks

The Memphis Grizzlies are just 1-3 in Las Vegas. They’ve also lost two consecutive games, including their latest loss to the Atlanta Hawks. There was some excitement heading into the Summer League with this Memphis group. With GG Jackson, Cam Spencer and Jaylen Wells, it was supposed to be a dominant Summer League. However, they’re 1-3 and haven’t gotten much contribution from other players.

They’ll face a Clippers squad that has gone 3-1 in the Summer League. Los Angeles won its first three games but lost 81-76 to the Nuggets in its last outing. Ultimately, the Clippers have some of the best players in the Summer League. Jordan Miller just scored 23 points against Denver, to go along with 14 rebounds. Cam Christie and Patrick Baldwin Jr. each added 16 points, and Trentyn Flowers scored 12 points (5-for-19).

The bench is far from good. But the Clippers’ starting lineup should outpace the Grizzlies’ starting lineup. Give me the Clippers.

Pick: Clippers Moneyline (-130)

Sacramento Kings vs. Charlotte Hornets NBA Summer League Picks

The Charlotte Hornets are involved in an NBA Finals game. Nobody expected to type that in 2025. Anywhere, here we are. The Hornets are 5-0 after knocking off the Thunder 109-80 last time out. The offense has scored at least 96 points in four of its five wins. Kon Knueppel has been an exciting addition. Jaylen Sims and Ryan Kalkbrenner are two other players to watch tonight.

Meanwhile, the Kings aren’t as fluid offensively. However, the defense has allowed no more than 88 points in all but one game in the Summer League. Isaac Jones was the key piece in that fifth game, after he scored 36 points in 30 minutes on 13-of-17 shooting. He was insane and didn’t make the rest of the team work on offense.

Still, throughout the Summer League, we’ve seen the Kings’ depth show up. They’ll ride the hot hand, or they’ve got a bunch of guys that they can rely on. I like the Kings (-2.5) to win the NBA Summer League Championship game.

Pick: Kings -2.5 (-115)
