NFL Futures: Best Bets for Super Bowl LV Winner (Exact Outcome)

Whether you’re new to sports betting or a betting pro, our Sports Betting Strategy and Advice page is for you. You can get started with our 101 section — including How to Choose a Sportsbook â€” or head to more advanced strategy — like Which Sports Are Most Profitable to Bet? â€” to learn more.

One of the most popular futures bets for the 2020 NFL season is picking the Super Bowl winner. If you choose the correct team, your payout will be a minimum of +650 odds. You can put even more money in your pocket by not only picking who will win the Super Bowl, but who they will beat in the process.

BetMGM is one of the only sportsbooks around that offers this “Exact Outcome” prop for the Super Bowl. If you identify the two participants and the winner, you can turn a $100 wager into a five-figure payout.

In my last article, I offered two different scenarios as best bets for who will meet in Super Bowl LV. Now, let’s take it one step further and predict who will win these matchups.

New Orleans Saints over Kansas City Chiefs (+4000)

In the 54-year history of the Super Bowl, there have been eight back-to-back champions. However, only the New England Patriots in Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX have accomplished that feat in the last 20 years. As good as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are, I will err on the side of history and say there will not be another back-to-back champion this year.

On paper, the Saints’ roster looks every bit as good as the Chiefs, if not better. New Orleans has a more balanced offense than Kansas City, with many playmakers to keep pace in a shootout. In addition, the Saints’ defense was better than the Chiefs in many categories, including total defense, last year.

New Orleans has suffered excruciatingly tough playoff losses in each of the past three years. If the referees did not miss a blatant pass interference call against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game two years ago, Drew Brees may very well have two Super Bowl rings to his name.

The Chiefs are the buzz of the NFL entering 2020. Meanwhile, the Saints are no longer the most talked about team in their own division now that Tom Brady is in Tampa Bay. Look for New Orleans to play with a chip on its shoulder this year and squeeze out one more championship with Brees under center.

Baltimore Ravens over Philadelphia Eagles (+7000)

Lamar Jackson was amazing in his first full year as a starter. He led the league with 36 passing touchdowns and broke Michael Vick’s single-season rushing record by a quarterback with 1,206 yards. All of this led to Jackson being named the 2019 NFL MVP.

The only thing Jackson did not do was come up big in the playoffs. The Ravens wasted a 14-2 campaign when they got steamrolled by Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round. Look for Jackson to get things figured out in the playoffs in his third year.

Picking the Eagles to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl is predicated on them finally staying healthy. If they do, they have one of the most talented rosters in the league. Given its third-ranked rushing defense last year, Philadelphia has what it takes to limit Baltimore’s offense. However, the Ravens are the more complete team on both sides of the ball.

Carson Wentz will silence some of his doubters in Philadelphia by making the Super Bowl, but Jackson and the Ravens will get their rings and set up a fantastic rivalry between them and the Chiefs for many years to come.
