NFL Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay: Eagles vs. Bears
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears
- Leg 1: Zach Ertz Over 1.5 Receptions (-105)
- Leg 2: D'Andre Swift 60+ Rushing Yards (-121)
- Leg 3: Jalen Hurts 20+ Rushing Yards (-161)
This Monday Night Football matchup is intriguing. The Bears will be without Caleb Williams as they try to bounce back from last week's loss. Meanwhile, the Eagles will try to start 3-0 for the second straight season. Let's target a trio of player props for this same-game parlay.
Both teams have notable injury and roster news impacting our picks. Philadelphia signed Zach Ertz this week following Dallas Goedert’s injury. It's obviously risky to back Ertz's props in his first game, especially since it's unclear whether or not he'll be activated from the practice squad. Even so, we're going that way.
This matchup suggests an Eagles tight end will factor in. Chicago allowed 5.76 receptions per game to the position last season, which was the 10th-most in the NFL. That trend appears to be continuing this season. The Bears gave up six receptions to Carolina tight ends in Week 1 and then four catches to Minnesota tight ends in Week 2.
Philadelphia brought in Ertz to be the receiving tight end in Goedert's absence. Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers are on injured reserve (IR), and Johnny Mundt and EJ Jenkins are better blockers but very unproven as pass-catchers. Ertz got some practice this week to learn the offense, and he already has experience playing with Jalen Hurts. We need just two receptions from Ertz to hit our prop.
On the Chicago side, the offense will likely be run-heavy with Case Keenum at quarterback. That means D'Andre Swift should see plenty of carries. He ran for 124 yards on 18 attempts back in Week 1, and then gained 45 yards on 16 carries last week. The volume on Monday should get him to 60+ yards.
Philadelphia has struggled to stop the run this season. The Eagles allowed 132 rushing yards on 4.1 yards per carry to Washington in Week 1, and then 122 yards on 4.2 yards per carry to Tennessee in Week 2. In both games, the defense allowed 60+ rushing yards to the opposing lead back (Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Tony Pollard). Plus, Swift ran for 125 yards against the Eagles last season.
Back to the Eagles’ offense to round out the parlay. Look for Hurts to use his legs in key situations. Chicago allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game to quarterbacks last season (23.3 yards per contest). The Bears' talented pass rush usually forces scrambles, and Hurts knows when to pull it down to run. The dual-threat quarterback ran for 46 yards in Week 1. Getting to 20+ yards is very doable.
Parlay Odds: +450
