NFL Prop Bets: Week 6 (2019)

Look for Week 6 NFL Prop Bets? I have you covered! This week there are four props including three running back props that can provide value.

But before we proceed ahead, let’s take a look back to Week 5 which was a great week for me and this column. I went 3-1 thanks to Colt McCoy, Kirk Cousins, and Michael Thomas! It would have been a 4-0 week if the Packers didn’t get out to a 17 point lead and force Dallas to throw to get back into the game. Let’s see if we can stay hot and rack up more wins!

Which props do I like? Let’s head to DraftKings Sports Book and see where the value sits.

Kyler Murray – Over 250.5 Passing yards (-134)

Kyler Murray is set to go off this week against a Falcons secondary that is getting throttled by opposing passers. They are currently allowing 263.2 passing yards per game and this average continues to trend up as the injuries mount. Over the last three weeks, the Falcons have allowed 426 to Deshaun Watson, 310 to Jacoby Brissett, and 227 to Marcus Mariota. Had the Titans been forced to throw more that number would have been much higher.

On the other side of the ball, the Cardinals have been worse, allowing 284 passing yards per game. Matt Ryan should also have a field day. With Ryan and company producing yards and likely points, Kyler Murray will have to keep pace. Speaking of Ryan, his over/under is set at 315.5 which is very tempting for a QB that has gone over that total in three of his five starts. In the two he didn’t? Ryan threw for 304 yards in each start. Taking both seems like a wise move.

Back to Murray, who has been putting up yardage all season and is averaging 264.8 yards per contest in his 5 starts. The likely return of Christian Kirk this week should only help him play well. Take the over as Murray should approach or exceed 300 passing yards this week.

Chris Carson – Over 78.5 Rushing Yards (-143)

This prop comes with heavy juice but it is absolutely worth laying for me. The Seattle Seahawks love to run the ball running the fifth-most plays via the ground game. Chris Carson has hit the 100-yard mark in back-to-back games and seeing 20 plus carries in each of those games.

Brian Schottenheimer will want to utilize the ground and pound against the Browns this week. The Browns are allowing the sixth-most rushing yards this season. They have been gashed by Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram, and the 49ers. Expect Carson to continue the trend this week and put up a third straight 100-yard rushing performance.

Matt Breida – Over 52.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

Speaking of the 49ers rushing attack, take Matt Breida over 52.5 rushing yards this week. I’m trying to figure out the argument for not taking Breida to smash the over TBH. I get the 49ers will be without Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, and Kyle Juszczyk which is less than ideal. That said, I fully expect San Francisco to utilize Breida to keep the pressure of Jimmy Garoppolo this week.

The Rams have struggled against the run thus far this season. Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb, and the aforementioned Chris Carson all broke 95 yards on the ground. Ronald Jones ran for 70 yards against this defense.

Breida would have crushed the over in three of his four games this season including two performances eclipsing the century mark. Pound the over with this prop!

Dalvin Cook – Over 35.5 Receiving Yards (-118)

In order for Dalvin Cook and the Vikings to have success on Sunday, Dalvin Cook will need to be involved in the passing game. The Philadelphia Eagles have been stout against the run allowing a league-leading 47.8 rushing yards per game. That said, running backs have found success against this team as a pass-catcher. They are allowing the seventh-most passing yards to the position including 107 yards to Patriots RBs last week and 55 to Wayne Gallman the week before.

Dalvin Cook remains a part of the passing attack thus far this season. He has 33 or more yards via the pass in each of the past four weeks. His reception total continues to rise including back-to-back six catch performances. Cook will produce again this week and soar over 35.5 receiving yards.
