NFL Sunday Night Football Picks & Player Props: Lions vs. Chiefs (Week 6)

We’ve been on a tear with our Sunday Night Football picks lately. Two weekends ago, we went 2-0 with our picks in the Cowboys-Packers game. Then, last week, we hit on the Patriots at +7.5 and Stefon Diggs to earn at least five receptions.

We’ve gone 4-0 over the last two games and are looking for more. This week, it’ll be the Detroit Lions against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs are 2-3 and are coming off a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 31-28, on Monday Night Football. With a loss to the Lions, Kansas City will struggle to get back into playoff contention.

Meanwhile, the Lions have scored at least 34 points in four consecutive games and are on a four-game winning streak. Can the Chiefs’ defense step up and do enough?

Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Game Pick)

The Detroit Lions have been unstoppable over the last month. They’ve scored nearly 35 points per game with 230.20 yards in the air and 134.80 yards on the ground. This isn’t much different than the Kansas City Chiefs, though.

The Chiefs have earned 241 yards in the air and 120 yards on the ground per game, yet they’ve scored only 25 points per game.

So while it looks like the Lions have been far and away the better team, there are arguments for the Chiefs. Kansas City has allowed fewer points per game. The Chiefs have also allowed just 190.60 yards in the air this season. The Chiefs need to perform better against the run, especially against the Lions. However, if Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs dictate this game on offense and control the clock, Kansas City should be able to escape with a win.

    Pick: Chiefs -2.5 (-120)

Jameson Williams Under 2.5 Receptions (Player Prop)

During a four-game winning streak, Jameson Williams has seen a lack of production. Williams has earned no more than two receptions in four consecutive games heading into this one. It’s almost impressive, especially since he’s played nearly 80% of snaps during that four-game stretch.

Against Cincinnati last week, Williams saw only one target, and against Cleveland, the week before, he hauled in only two catches on eight targets. This season, he’s hovered around four targets per week. Meanwhile, the Chiefs rank 4th in longest receptions allowed to wide receivers. The Chiefs are also 5th in yards per catch and 7th in targets allowed to wide receivers. In addition, Kansas City’s defense is also 7th in receiving yards allowed and 8th in receptions allowed.

The Chiefs are still one of the elite defenses in the league, especially against wide receivers. Let’s fade Jameson Williams and take him to add under 2.5 receptions in tonight’s showdown against the Chiefs.

Pick: Jameson Williams Under 2.5 Receptions (+122)
