NFL Super Bowl LIX Line Movement Predictions: Eagles vs. Chiefs (2025)

We're less than a week away from Super Bowl LIX, and it's time to get our bets locked in for this year's NFL finale between the Kansas City Chiefs (17-2) and the Philadelphia Eagles (17-3).

This is a follow-up analysis to last week's article where we dove into the opening betting lines and the Chiefs were 1.5-point favorites and the total sat at 49.5 points. Currently, Kansas City remains in the -1.0-to-1.5-point range, while the total has dipped as low as 48.5 points at some sportsbooks. Our odds comparison tool will help you find the most favorable odds in the market.

Let's check out my thoughts on if, and where, these lines could move as we approach Sunday's Super Bowl LIX, which gets underway at 6:30 p.m. ET from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA.

Super Bowl LIX Line Movement Predictions: Side

(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

Current Line: Kansas City Chiefs -1.0 (-110)

We've seen money coming in on the Philadelphia Eagles, which has dropped them to just a 1.0-point underdog, compared to their opening line of +1.5 points. This is likely due to a favorable injury report the Eagles put out, stating all their starters will be ready for Sunday. The actual injury report still has a few DNPs (did not practice) from Friday's session, but it's trending toward everyone playing. That includes key linemen OC Cam Jurgens and DE Brandon Graham (20 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble).

At this point, these line movements aren't too significant, as we're not crossing through any key betting numbers (i.e. 3, 4, 7). Of course, you'll still want to find the best available number, as you'd hate to be sitting with a Chiefs -1.5 ticket while there are -1.0 lines available, in case they pull off a one-point victory. However, even this is unlikely, as the last 33 Super Bowls have finished with margins of three points or more.

Is there any other news that can impact the spread and cause a change that's worth making a bet? Honestly, not really. Both teams are essentially at 100% health, and we're not waiting on any major injury news that would push us through key numbers. We'll likely stay right here in the Chiefs -1.0-to-1.5-point range up until kic-off.

Super Bowl LIX Line Movement Predictions: Total

(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

Current Total: 49.0 (-110/-110)

As mentioned in the intro, the total opened at 49.5 points. It has since been bet down to as low as 48.5 points at a few sportsbooks. However, considering the game is at the Caesars Superdome, I felt it would be appropriate to use their odds for this article.

Speaking of the Superdome, that's a great transition into factors that can impact a betting total. Weather is the most important variable for movement on totals, but being that this game is in a dome, it will have absolutely zero impact on the total. The other critical factor is injury news, but being that all of the skilled players (i.e. QBs, WRs, RBs) are 100%, we don't have much to worry about on this front either.

At this point, the only other variable that could impact the betting total is when bettors are going to make their wagers. Your typical recreational bettor isn't thinking about when to place bets, getting the best price, etc. The fact you're reading this article puts you one step ahead of casual bettors, which gives you an edge.

What do we know about the public? We know they love betting overs and rooting for offense. When combining these factors, we can project that if this total is going to move, it's likely going to move upward as we approach kickoff, due to sportsbooks accepting more handle on the over.

If you're looking to bet the over, now would be the time to do so. The opposite is true if you want to lock in the under. I'd suggest monitoring the board throughout the week to see if we get more action on the over. There's a chance you can walk away with an under ticket at 49.5 or 50 points, which will increase the range of final scores that would help you get back to the window to cash a winning ticket.
