Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road. Despite being on the road, the Colts are 3.5-point favorites and are currently 7-1 on the season. A win against the Steelers, on the road, would certainly impress bettors.
On the other hand, the Falcons will be on the road to face a red-hot Patriots team. Nobody knows the complete status of Michael Penix Jr. or Drake London. However, the Falcons have averaged 10 points in their last two games against the 49ers and Dolphins. The offense has really struggled no matter who has played. With a loss to the Patriots on the road, it’s likely the Colts could become favorites of seven or more points in their game against the Falcons in Berlin next week.
Ultimately, the Colts have ganged up on mediocre teams. A win on the road against the Steelers would help prove to NFL bettors that the Colts are a top-tier team. Grab the Colts at -6.5.
Pick: Colts -6.5 (-120)
Cleveland Browns vs. New York Jets
The Browns and Jets are both currently on a bye week. Cleveland and New York have each won one of their last five games this season. But it’s the Jets who currently have momentum.
The Jets added 502 yards of offense in their latest win against the Bengals on the road. Justin Fields threw for 244 yards and a touchdown, and Breece Hall finished with 18 carries for 133 yards. Since the Jets are on a bye week, Garrett Wilson could likely return from injury and play in this game. That would certainly help. However, Fields is notorious for taking sacks. He’ll have to face Myles Garrett, who is having a career-like season already.
If Fields takes sacks, the Jets won’t be able to find plays in the playbook to earn long yardage.
On the flip side, Dillon Gabriel is making many mistakes as the new quarterback for the Browns. More importantly, he doesn’t have wide receivers he trusts. Jerry Jeudy finished with zero catches last week, and he was expected to be the No. 1 target. Instead, it’s tight ends Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku doing most of the work offensively. Beyond that, Quinshon Judkins is dealing with a minor injury and could be limited in this game.
That’s why I’ll stick with the under.
Pick: Under 38.5 Points (-110)
