Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Jets
I faded the Giants last week. Now, I’ll fade the Jets this week.
During last week’s bye week, reports circulated the Jets could bench Aaron Rodgers for the rest of the season. Other reports said Rodgers still wants to play football in 2025, but not for the Jets.
Either way, the Jets are 3-8 and a complete circus. They’ve already fired their head coach and general manager, and things have only worsened since those moves.
We’ve seen a lack of accountability in the Jets’ locker room, too. It’ll be a complete overhaul for New York. They could position themselves to tank the rest of the season away and start brand new next season.
After all, behind Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have scored just 18.55 points per game. Meanwhile, the defense that was expected to be one of the best in the league has allowed 22 points per game, including 130 yards on the ground.
The Seattle Seahawks might not have a better defense statistically, but they’ve played very well over the last couple of weeks. Seattle has won two straight games. They held the 49ers to 17 points on the road and kept Arizona to only six points at home in Week 12.
At 6-5, the Seahawks are playing for a playoff spot. The Jets are only playing for pride, which they’ve shown a minimal amount of all year.
Take Seattle at -2. After all, the Seahawks are 3-1 on the road this season.
Pick: Seahawks -2 (-110)
Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos
I’ve been on the Denver Broncos train all season long. How could you not be?
The Broncos are 7-5 and have exceeded expectations this season. Sean Payton is certainly the real deal and has already developed Bo Nix into a reliable starting quarterback in the NFL.
Nix hasn’t thrown an interception in three consecutive games and has thrown for at least 215 yards in five straight games. This type of performance has helped the Broncos excel, and it’s why they have held teams to 16.64 points per game.
The Broncos haven’t allowed more than 19 points in four of the last five games. The only hiccup was a 41-10 loss to the Ravens.
Now, they’ll take on a Cleveland Browns team that just knocked off the Pittsburgh Steelers. That game had a bunch of twists and turns. Jameis Winston helped lead the Browns to a win against a divisional rival, but he made a couple of costly errors. The Browns also gave Nick Chubb 20 carries, and his longest run was only seven yards.
That certainly doesn’t excite me. Therefore, I’ll take the Broncos at -5.5 for the second straight week.
Pick: Broncos -5.5 (-110)
