Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers

It hasn’t been the year the San Francisco 49ers envisioned at the start of the season. But at 5-7, the 49ers can still make the playoffs. They just have to win.

San Francisco played two super cold games against the Packers and Bills, but now they’ll be home against a mediocre Chicago team that just fired their head coach after last week’s debacle.

It’s unlikely Christian McCaffrey will be back for the Niners this season. However, Jordan Mason carried this team earlier in the season and should be a solid workhorse for the 49ers for the remainder of the season. As long as Brock Purdy comes out of the last game healthy, the 49ers will be competitive.

Meanwhile, the Bears find new ways to lose week after week. They’ve been close but haven’t been able to get over the hump. With a fierce 49ers team on deck, Chicago will likely fall on the road for the seventh consecutive game. After all, the Bears haven’t won a game on the road this season.

    Pick: 49ers -5.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs might be 11-1, but this team is less impressive than almost every other team under Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. The only remarkable thing is that the Chiefs have found a way to get to 11-1 this season.

In an earlier game this year, the Chargers fell to the Chiefs, 17-10 at home. Kansas City still outplayed the Chargers but also gave up two turnovers, including one interception and one fumble.

On the other hand, the Chargers averaged just 4.2 yards per play against the Chiefs. Los Angeles had nine penalties in that game and earned a total of 224 yards on offense.

This game likely stays under the total. After all, Kansas City only scored 19 against the Raiders on Black Friday, and the Chargers earned 17 against the Falcons despite adding four interceptions. The Chargers’ offense didn’t take advantage well enough. Herbert was sacked five times and had just 16 completions against Atlanta.

Los Angeles also struggled to run the football without J.K. Dobbins, adding just 3.3 yards a carry on 17 attempts.

We’ll see a low-scoring game on Sunday Night. Grab the under.

    Pick: Under 43.5 Points (-115)
