The first week of the NFL season was pretty underwhelming. There was a lack of big upsets, and many games went under the total. Will that flip in Week 2?

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

The Buffalo Bills stormed back on Sunday Night Football and earned a 41-40 win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills should never have had a chance to come back, but a crucial Derrick Henry-led play led to a Buffalo comeback that will be talked about for ages.

Josh Allen threw for 394 yards and added two passing touchdowns. Allen also secured two more rushing touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over at all. The Bills typically don’t rely heavily on any one player on offense. They spread the ball around. Yet, Keon Coleman became the X-factor. The second-year wideout caught eight of his 11 targets and recorded 112 yards receiving. He also added a touchdown. The offense couldn’t be stopped late in the game.

On the other hand, the Bills will face a Jets team that played similarly in Week 1. The Jets weren’t as fortunate, as they also suffered a crucial fumble late in the game that derailed their chances. The Jets lost, 34-3, to the Pittsburgh Steelers and allowed former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to throw four touchdowns. New York’s defense lost its mojo. The Jets seem to forget how to play defense when the offense actually puts up numbers.

After all, Fields completed 16-of-22 from the field and added 218 yards passing with a passing touchdown. He also added two more rushing touchdowns on 12 carries and averaged four yards per carry in this game. He looked crisp in his New York debut. I’d expect nothing less against a Buffalo secondary that looks abysmal.

Let’s back the over.

Pick: Over 45.5 Points (-120)

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins couldn’t stop a nosebleed in Week 1. In fact, the Dolphins allowed Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts to score on every possession in their 33-8 loss. Jones was super efficient, completing 22-of-29 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown. Jones also rushed for another 26 yards and scored two more touchdowns on the ground.

Drake Maye won’t do that. But Maye is starting to grow as a quarterback. He should use this game against the Dolphins as a way to gain some momentum for the year.

Meanwhile, Tua Tagovailoa only had 14 completions in the loss to the Colts. He threw two interceptions and only one touchdown. It was pure chaos for the Dolphins in Week 1. Everyone predicted the Browns or Titans would be the worst team in the NFL.

The Dolphins are shaping up to be a bad team. Yet, Miami is the favorite at home against the Patriots on Sunday for Week 2. I’ll take the value and grab the Patriots. New England’s the better team overall.

Pick: Patriots Moneyline (+110)
