NFL Week 5 Confidence Pool Picks & Predictions (2024)
I wanted to get into the top 10,000 heading into Week 5 in the ESPN NFL Pick’em Challenge. After an 11-4 week, we’re currently 4,579th in the world with 345 points and a 41-23 record.
If you’re playing in a casual pool against your friends and family, and you’ve been following along with these picks, there’s a good chance you’re in the lead in your pool.
Let’s keep it that way. Here are my confidence picks for Week 5 in the NFL.
NFL Confidence Pool Picks
(1) Saints | Saints vs. Chiefs
I’ll take my chances.
The Chiefs are without Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco and don’t look nearly as good as they did in previous seasons.
(2) Jets | Jets vs. Vikings
Look for the Jets to handle business in London against former first-round pick Sam Darnold. They’re hungry for a win after last week’s disaster.
(3) Falcons | Buccaneers vs. Falcons
This should be a one-score game. I’ll back the home team in this rivalry game.
(4) Texans | Bills vs. Texans
They’ll be fine if the Texans can clean up some of their undisciplined penalties. With Joe Mixon and Tank Dell potentially returning, I’ll side with Houston.
(5) Steelers | Cowboys vs. Steelers
The Steelers play much better defense than Dallas does.
(6) Dolphins | Dolphins vs. Patriots
Neither offense is elite. But at least the Dolphins have guys that can make big plays when given the chance.
(7) Bears | Panthers vs. Bears
At least the Chicago defense is playing well this season.
(8) Colts | Colts vs. Jaguars
If the Colts were serious about winning, they’d role with Joe Flacco this week. Still, the Jaguars are the lone winless team in the NFL. They’ve looked horrible despite multiple games finishing by one possession.
(9) Broncos | Raiders vs. Broncos
We can laugh at Bo Nix’s stat line against the Jets last week. But the one thing he did was limit turnovers in a wet, slippery game. By doing that. he helped the Broncos escape the Jets and win. Denver has won two consecutive games, and with better weather ahead, I think he’ll make it three straight.
(10) Ravens | Ravens vs. Bengals
How will the Bengals stop the Baltimore run?
(11) Packers | Packers vs. Rams
The Packers’ offense will be a juggernaut. Just give it time.
(12) Commanders | Browns vs. Commanders
It’s hard to imagine Cleveland can match the offense of Jayden Daniels and the Commanders this weekend.
(13) Seahawks | Seahawks vs. Giants
It’s never easy to go cross-country and secure a win, but Seattle’s offense looks dangerous right now.
(14) 49ers | 49ers vs. Cardinals
San Francisco should handle business against an Arizona defense that has struggled lately.
