NFL Week 5 Confidence Pool Picks
(1) Cardinals | Lions vs. Cardinals
The Lions’ defense has been bad enough that any team in the NFL can pull off an upset against them now. Let’s not forget how much talent the Cardinals have on offense.
(2) Commanders | Giants vs. Commanders
If Jayden Daniels returns and is actually healthy, I like Washington to sneak by and get the win at home.
(3) Saints | Vikings vs. Saints
Look for the Saints to respond to last week’s loss with a solid showing against the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings. Don’t get trapped with the rest of them.
(4) Browns | Jets vs. Browns
I want to believe the Jets can outscore the Browns at home on Sunday.
(5) Packers | Bears vs. Packers
I’ll take the Packers at home in this rivalry, as long as Caleb Williams isn’t back.
(6) Chargers | Broncos vs. Chargers
This is where the Chargers pick up their first win of the season. Bo Nix and Justin Herbert have both played below average to begin the season.
(7) Seahawks | 49ers vs. Seahawks
The 49ers have given up fewer points per game, but I still like the Seattle Seahawks’ defense more. At home, I’ll take the Seahawks in this major divisional matchup.
(8) Steelers | Colts vs. Steelers
The Steelers have had more time to prepare and also didn’t have to travel outside the United States last week. Give me Pittsburgh.
(9) Falcons | Ravens vs. Falcons
Lamar Jackson sprained his ankle, leaving his availability in doubt. Meanwhile, the Falcons look like an entirely new offense with Michael Penix Jr. back on the field.
(10) Bills | Bills vs. Rams
Look for Josh Allen to show up big on Monday Night Football, on the road.
(11) Patriots | Raiders vs. Patriots
New England has some momentum after earning a huge win over the Bills.
(12) Jaguars | Eagles vs. Jaguars
The Philadelphia Eagles are a mess with injuries and retirements, and everything else. I’m good.
(13) Bengals | Bengals vs. Dolphins
Even at home, there’s no way I’ll ever back the 0-4 Dolphins.
(14) Texans | Texans vs. Titans
Both teams are 0-4, but I trust the Texans way more than the Titans on paper.
(15) Cowboys | Buccaneers vs. Cowboys
Jalon Daniels showed some good things, but he’s still a rookie getting acclimated to the NFL.
