Early NFL Week 6 Picks
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The injury bug continues to bite the Philadelphia Eagles. They might be down to Dameon Pierce at running back after Will Shipley was injured last week. The Eagles could have Saquon Barkley back this week, but with Shipley, Tank Bigsby and Barkley hurt, their running back depth has been painful.
Meanwhile, DeVonta Smith could also return for the Eagles. The wide receiver depth also lacks, despite Darius Cooper making a name for himself. Jalen Hurts has also looked poor this season. Additionally, the offensive line has changed a lot over the last couple of weeks.
Add on last week’s loss overseas in London against the Jaguars, and it seems like everyone is out on the Eagles this season. But we’ve seen what this team has accomplished over the last month. They’ll be home this week and are listed as favorites against the Panthers.
Ultimately, the Panthers have also been impressive on offense, scoring 121 points this season. But it’s been the same old story for the defense. The run defense is lacking, and the tackling has been subpar.
This game could get high-scoring, but I’ll back the Eagles to find a way at home on the Moneyline at -115.
Pick: Eagles Moneyline (-115)
Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns
The Baltimore Ravens are hopeful Lamar Jackson will return to the field in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. Typically, this would be an easy decision to back the Ravens. However, the Browns have been competitive and have performed way better than expected behind Deshaun Watson this season.
Plus, this is a rivalry game. It’s a divisional matchup. The Browns will likely keep this game close, too.
That said, the Browns are struggling with their running back depth, with Quinshon Judkins dealing with an ankle injury. The offense has scored only 93 points but has allowed fewer points per game than the Ravens this season.
Cleveland will need to find ways to force Jackson to scramble. He’s unlikely to be 100%, and the Ravens’ pass protection has been mediocre, at best, this season.
Therefore, I’ll back the Browns at +4.5 at home. Don’t forget that the Browns are still 3-2, whether it’s deserved or not.
Pick: Browns +4.5 (-115)
