NFL Week 8 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Giants vs. Seahawks

Nobody had circled this as one of week eight’s marquee games in the preseason, and perhaps no two teams have exceeded expectations more than the Giants and Seahawks. There are few games more difficult to handicap this week, as conflicting trends suggest restraint in betting either side of this game. Such trends being that New York QB Daniel Jones is 14-4 ATS as a road underdog in his career, and Seattle HC Pete Carroll owns a 15-7 ATS record at home without QB Russell Wilson.

Unconfidently, I’ll endorse Seattle as the side in this contest. The Seahawks rank third in Weighted Offensive DVOA, and the edge they’ll have in playing in front of their home crowd cannot be ignored. Further, the burden of travel is surely taxing on the Giants, and their dream start to the season is due for regression.
