NFL Week 8 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Panthers vs. Falcons

Atlanta hosts Carolina in a game that’s suddenly important in the NFC South standings. Carolina showed signs of life on offense against the Tampa defense last week, but the last ranked DVOA passing game was still non-existent. Carolina is one of the few teams in the league who aren’t able to take advantage of a banged up Atlanta secondary that is one of the worst in the league even when healthy. Unless D’Onta Foreman goes off again, Carolina will struggle to score.

Atlanta’s offense is run heavy to a fault, but against a Carolina team that struggles to put up points themselves, they should be able to control the game script on the ground like they’ve done in their wins this season.

Carolina got a nice win to hang their season on last week, but the Falcons are the better team and it will show on Sunday.
