NFL Week 9 Teasers: Picks & Predictions (2024)
One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser allows you to buy points - like 6.0, 6.5, or 7.0 - in a direction that lowers risk.
Teaser Tips to Follow:
- Never cross over 0
- Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7
- Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or fewer
Below are four teaser options for Week 9, along with my best teaser bet.

Week 9 Teaser Options
(Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook)
Cincinnati Bengals (-7 to -1) vs. Las Vegas Raiders
This could be a tough lookahead spot for the Bengals, as they have to travel to Baltimore next Thursday night for a big AFC North showdown.
The only way I would consider playing Cincinnati this week would be in a teaser. Despite a tough spot for Joe Burrow and the Bengals, they need to treat each week as a must-win game after starting the season 1-4.
Cleveland Browns (+1.5 to +7.5) vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Cleveland Browns offense looked 10 times better with Jameis Winston under center and they finally ended their five-game losing streak. While Winston wasn’t perfect, the team was still able to move the ball downfield when needed against the Ravens
This week will be a bit of a tougher challenge as the Chargers’ defense is tops in the league. The Chargers rank 32 in expected points added (EPA) per play, while the Ravens rank 26th. The Ravens have allowed the most passing yards (291.4), while the Chargers allowed the ninth-fewest (193.4).
The Browns are dealing with a few injuries on the defensive side of the ball but should play well enough to keep this within a one-score game, especially at home.
Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5 to -1.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
While it hasn’t been pretty, the Eagles are finding their stride. They have won three straight games and now face a roughed-up Jaguars team. Christian Kirk is out for the season and the Jags could be without Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Etienne.
Even without the injuries, the Jaguars have been a bad football team, winning only three of their last 11 games dating back to last season.
While the Jags are dealing with major injuries, the Eagles are getting healthy. A.J. Brown returned to the team last week. The Eagles are undefeated and 3-1 against the spread (ATS) with Brown in the lineup.
Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5 to -2.5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What once was a promising start for Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers has turned for the worst.
Tampa Bay lost Chris Godwin for the season and will be without Mike Evans for the next month. We have seen Mayfield go from two interceptions in the first five games to seven in the last three. He has to play another elite defense on the road this week.
Tampa’s defense has also lost some of its edge. It has allowed 33 points per game over its last three games. They now have to face Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes on extra rest. Yikes.
Mahomes and company should have no problem winning this game by a field goal.
