Monday’s NHL Playoffs Best Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Tampa Bay Lightning (+124) at Florida Panthers (-148) | O/U 5.5 (-108/-112)
The Lightning offense finally woke up in Game 3. After they allowed an early goal to the Panthers, they scored five unanswered to cruise to their first win of the series.
The Florida blueline was great, allowing only 22 shots on goal, but they were allowing Tampa Bay to get into the crease and get second chances. Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky couldn't stop them.
Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy had another great performance. After allowing six goals in Game 1 on a .647 save percentage, he's allowed two goals and recorded a .964 save percentage in the last two. He has logged 118 career playoff games, and he's been through all the situations you can imagine. When he starts playing well, he's tough to get through.
The return of Brandon Hagel was a jolt the Bolts needed, which could help propel them into making this a series.
Pick: Lightning Moneyline (+124)
Colorado Avalanche (-142) at Dallas Stars (+120) | O/U 6.5 (+114/-135)
We've had momentum shift multiple times in this series, and with Colorado's win, it has become a best-of-five series.
The problem with both teams is that they don't always perform up to their capabilities. They each have tremendous talent, but they don't always perform like it. Look at the Stars’ offense. This team finished the regular season third in goals scored, but they've scored two or fewer goals in three of the four games in this series.
The Dallas defense continues to show inconsistency, and this isn't the time to do so against the Avalanche, who have a highly potent offense and finished sixth in goals scored. The offense is proving to be deep, with eight players scoring a goal. Nathan MacKinnon is having another spectacular playoffs, and he's leading the team with four goals, which is tied for the most in the entire playoffs.
Pick: Avalanche Moneyline (-142)
