Things have not quite gone as expected in Starkville this season as head coach Mike Leach couldn’t overcome a slow start but will still be bowl eligible no matter what happens Thursday. Close losses vs. Memphis and LSU, however, confirmed they wouldn’t compete in the SEC this season, but they have won five of their final seven games and come into this one feeling like they have a chance.
Oddsmakers agree, as despite being unranked and the lesser team in all major statistical metrics, the Bulldogs are favored at home in one of the most storied rivalries in the South.
For the Rebels, this season has been a life-changer for many in the program but most notably quarterback Matt Corral. A late-round NFL draftee at best to start the season, with the help of Lane Kiffin, Corral has transformed his offense (whose faced a brutal schedule) to a top 20 ranking in pass yards, total yards, and points scored.

Bottom Line
In what will very likely be the final game for Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, I’m not going away from the hand that’s fed us for the past two seasons. Facing a Bulldog’s defense that is giving up 430 yards of offense per game, I think we see Kiffin and Corrall have a field day in their last showing together and for this one to turn into a shootout the Bulldogs just can’t compete in.
