Tuesday’s Best Winter Olympics Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Italy vs. Switzerland (Men’s Hockey)
Italy is currently 0-3 entering this matchup against Switzerland. Italy most recently lost 11-0 to Finland after narrowly losing to Slovakia, 3-2. It seems Italy has finally run out of gas.
On the other hand, Switzerland’s only loss in the Olympics came against Canada. That’s very reasonable. Switzerland earned a 4-3 overtime victory over Czechia and had already beaten France 4-0 earlier in the Olympics.
In every Switzerland game, there’s been at least four goals. In two of the three, there have been at least six goals. Nobody would be surprised if Switzerland ran up the score, just like Finland did against Italy. Switzerland has some legitimate NHL players, such as Nico Hischier and Timo Meier.
Therefore, I’ll roll with the Over 6.5 (-142) in this one.
Pick: Over 6.5 (-142)
France vs. Germany (Men’s Hockey)
France has looked terrible defensively in the Olympics. The French have allowed at least four goals in every game and just allowed ten goals to Canada, in a 10-3 loss. Ultimately, Germany hasn’t been much better. It earned a 3-1 win over Denmark, to begin the Olympics. But after that win, Germany lost to Latvia and the US, allowing nine goals in those two games.
However, if you take away the USA game, Germany scored at least three goals in the other two games. They shouldn’t have any problems scoring against France. Every other team scored at least four goals against them.
Still, Germany isn’t perfect. France has still added at least two goals in back-to-back games, including two against Canada. So let’s ride with the Over 6.5 in this one as well.
Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-140)
